As I said on check-in, this is a lovely old-fashioned family run hotel right on the beach. Reception manned 24/7, all staff helpful, friendly and efficient, free beach towels, nice breakfast, reliable wifi. Those in search of ultra-modern conveniences, who can't live without aircon or sleek contemporary decor, might not like it, but I loved it.

Lovely property, close to everything in the town- right next to the heart of everything and also right in front of the beach. Very kind and helpful staff all around. The room with sea view and terrace is totally worth it. Comfortable room and bed.

The staff were very friendly and spoke English well. The location was perfect and close to the beach, shopping and many eating options. The only things I didn't like was the security for their keys to the rooms. They weren't hidden away and they could accidentally be given to the wrong people. Wifi doesn't work on the 3rd floor but did work down in the lounge area.

We loved it so much we changed our plans and stayed longer! The Villa is right at the beach promenade, centrally located to shopping and restaurants all within easy walking distance. It is about an 8 minute walk from the train station and has parking available on site. Our room looked out toward the beach, maybe 100 feet away. We slept well in a comfy queen size bed, windows wide open to the fresh air and listened to the waves each night. So soothing. Breakfast was fresh, delicious and plentiful, with views out to the beach. The family and their colleagues who operate the Villa are all genuinely welcoming and helpful. We recommend you make good use of the terrace overlooking the beach while enjoying some wine! Ahhh! Relax and enjoy!

We loved our stay in this beautiful hotel. The staff were exceptional, kind, helpful, customer and service focused - they were so lovely. The hotel is exceptionally well located, right on the beach, includes free parking and the rooms are perfect. Our bed was big, super comfortable and the linen was fresh and clean. Highly recommend Bel Air as a great place to stay in Saint Jean du Luz.

1.-The AC doesn't exist and no air circulation so it was extremely uncomfortable being at the Hotel anytime since it was too hot 2.- The Little window located in the bathroom must to keep open in order to get any fresh air in the room,it constituye a peril since couples time you can hit your head with the little window door due is located right up the toilet. 3.- The door glas located at the shower is a peril since there is not handle to support a person trying to get out of the shower. 4.- The Manager ( guy with glasses) didn't explain clear the condition for breakfast service to the room, when I tried to get food for my wife, this guy without any kindness, address the issue without kindness. 5.- There is a staff old woman ( wearing a glasses among with the young guy wearing a glasses, they both should be he more Friendly and kind with customers. 6.- The rest of staff ( guy with long hair,Paula, young lady with glasses in the kitchen area)are amazing, extremely friendly and kindness, always willing to help and worry about how we were feeling, especially the guy with long hair and the young lady at the restaurant who manages the breakfast process, she is amazing. 6.- The location is amazing, restaurants, beach, bars and the whole downtown area is beautiful and romantic. I definitely will come back to Saint Jean de Luz,but this hotel needs a AC , and these two persons ( the manager and old lady with glasses)removed and get customer service training . Amador

Great family run hotel. Right on the beach with lots of dining close by. Saint Jean de Luz is a small town so walking to shopping, reastaurants, and history is no problem. The public market is fantastic.

An excellent welcome from the staff of this family run hotel. Room very clean and comfortable with a satisfactorily equipped bathroom. Excellent views of the lovely beach and of Ciboure from the hotel window. A good breakfast with baguettes, huge croissants, hams, cake, muesli and delicious coffee. It’s a pity that they have no restaurant. Plenty of local restaurants exist of course, but the majority of these are about a 10-minute walk away and I would imagine that the more elderly and infirm would find this a problem especially as traffic can be horrendous - don’t talk about the complicated one-way system in this town! Nevertheless this hotel can generally be relied upon to give satisfaction and the owners bend over backwards to assist in helping out. We shall certainly return here.
