A small but exceptionally well crafted menu. Great expertise with steak! We chose the 1050g Porthouse. Honestly can say possibly the best steak I've had. The sides again limited but am a believer of do less but well. In this case very well. The cocktails also well made and on point. Staff knowledgeable and friendly and a great atmosphere. A little off the main drag but that only benefits the place

Alan and Nicola were amazing tonight. My husband and I went back there for our little “Christmas before Christmas” and very enjoyed it! The Chataubriands were amazing, so were the cocktails!! The wine was very good and the service provided was top notch! Thank you both and we hope to see you soon!

This restaurant is a gem! The ambience is warm and stylish. The food is simply outstanding. Every plate was beautifully presented and perfectly seasoned. The flavours were fresh, balanced, and clearly made with care. Absolutely delicious! The staff went and above beyond to make us feel welcome. it's the kind of place you recommend to friends and know they'll thank you for it. 😊

THE BEST STEAK I HAVE EVER HAD FULL STOP!!!! Major congratulations to the Chef, steak was superbly cooked!! Mine medium well and my Brother in Laws medium rare, both steaks cooked to perfection and a picture perfect match for any steak cooking chart/diagram! It was tender, juicy and melted in my mouth and the portion of chips that came with it was HUGE!!! There were 5 in our group 4 adults and a 14yr old child (no kids menu!!). My Brother in Law and I had one Côte De Boeuf each, My Mother Sister and Niece had the poussin. They also had Chess, which was a welcome distraction while waiting for our food, we almost managed to finish our game before the food came. Regarding service, I do not go to Steakhouses or Steak Pubs very often and the Steak was spread across two menus which I found a bit confusing, I must admit our Waitress didn't do a great job of explaining how the steak ordering process worked very well so my Sister had to step in and explain it to me..... perhaps me being a bit dense.... Prices were a bit higher than I expected and steak prices are not shown on the menu as far as I remember (could be wrong!). Location is a Pub not a Steakhouse as some reviews have pointed out hence my surprise at the prices. However the food really was EXCELLENT and more or less worth the price IMO. For 4 adults and a child with one starter no alcohol and no pudding the bill was £200+, each steak was £75!! Décor was nice, interior had a relaxed Bar Saloon type feel. Overall 4 stars due to price and service but 10 stars for the delicious food and ample portions!! Would visit again! Much better than the Vegan pub down the road!!!!!....... Vegan pub, who ever heard of such a thing!.... LOL

Rght in the middle of old Oxford, walking distance to absolutely beautiful scenery. Lovely decor and great service. Caught up with friends for lunch, not cheap but our hostess was excellent and always attentive to the table, great steak and 4 bottles of wine later I'm struggling to remember much else.
