Wow ! This is an Exceptional guesthouse, 5 *! I would highly recommend this location. Manuel is the host and will treat you as a family member. He is welcoming and approachable should your have questions or need anything. Rooms are spotless and very comfortable with all of the necessary amenities. Balconies look out over the river. The grounds are carefully maintained. Location is secure and within an easy 10min. walk to restaurants and the train. Breakfast is of the highest quality with lots of options. Eggs are cooked to order. Parking is safe with plenty of spaces. Shower is top notch; great pressure and temperature. Love it. Do not hesitate to book here.

This is a beautiful property! Definitely a place to use as a base when exploring the Douro Valley and also a wonderful place to take time to relax. The rooms are well-appointed. Our outside guest room had a veranda and chairs overlooking a fountain, pool and the Douro River. The landscaping and plantings are very nice. We had an easy walk to numerous restaurants for dinner. The included breakfast was all we could wish for. The host was very gracious. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Excellent, food and people

Beautiful property in a beautiful setting. The staff are wonderful. The manager gave us helpful suggestions for enjoying the area and even drove us to the train station on Easter Sunday morning when we checked out as taxis might have been difficult.

All of my expectations were met! No surprises!

Though I had a short stay,

We could not have picked a better place to stay in this area. The view from our balcony was wonderful (overlooking the river), the home was beautifully furnished and spotless. You could feel the pride Manuel and his family has taken in managing the property. The property is full of lemon, orange and olive trees. Breakfast was perfect. You could easily walk down to the town, which we did but opted for a taxi back due to the "uphill" climb. The home was perfectly located for our visits to wineries. You won't be disappointed!

Very friendly during arrival. Room was spacious and inviting. Staff opened up breakfast for us a little early because we had an early departure on the day we left. Very nice of them

The home is very beautiful, charming and clean. They are equipped with both heat and A/C which is not always a given in Portugal. The breakfast was very nice, lots of options. The reason for only 4 stars is that as it is very old, the walls are very thin between rooms. We were kept awake by our neighbours TV on the first night. Also there is no privacy between the balconies.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Guest House experience. The family was wonderful. The rooms were quaint and perfect for our stay. Would recommend this location for those visiting.

What a beautiful family-run Casa! Old-world charm meets with comfort and convenience. The common areas are so inviting and interesting to browse. We looked forward to head over for breakfast and see what delights would be offered. Always well set up with an excellent variety. Our room was nice and large - very comfortable bed and excellent bathroom amenities (towel warmer, double sized shower with great water pressure, etc.).

Amazing stay! Breakfast was great, grounds were beautiful, room was nice, bathroom was phenomenal! Pool was beautiful and self service fridge with water, soda and wine! Parking was great, secure location! Up hill it walking from train station but short drive from town and wineries. GORGEOUS VIEWS! Great staff! Would recommend! Would return!
