Good location for Rock and Ribs festival. Good friendly staff. Felt welcome. Good room size, bed was comfy. Good breakfast.

Helpful friendly Manager. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Excellent cooked breakfast incuded. We chose it from reviews and location a short drive to Bath & West Showground. On first impression it seems a little run down and the room was quite small but it was comfortable representing good value.

Read other reviews mostly good before we booked , and we’re looking forward to our stay but we thought otherwise ..stayed in for evening meal was ok but not great ..breakfast ( full English ) was better but the fried eggs were hard …our room looked really clean with lovely clean sheets until I saw a dark mark through my side of the bed morning after ,,I looked and saw a big brown mark on the mattress protector ( I wouldn’t have slept if known it was there ,) the bathroom door stuck if you closed it and very tiny both my husband and myself got locked in ,it wouldn’t open from the inside( I’d have panicked if been on my own as my husband had to bang it open ) reported it and said they didn’t know it stuck ..Jeff the owner was welcoming but seemed like he was more or less running it on his own when asked he said staff had phoned in long term sick and someone was going to help him next day .i had a walk around the garden again could be lovely but it looked like things letting it down ,,not kept up ,,everything seemed be piled up ,child’s slide ,plants left to do their own thing ..shame really as could be made lovely and welcoming …must say it’s on a busy main road but overall had a good nights sleep ,but another couple who were staying there at the same time didn’t get much sleep …would we stay there again ?! No….it is an old Inn with character but the little things need sorting to be able to give a good review

Hotel is in need of a little TLC, however it was comfortable and a great base for where I needed to be.

Fantastic place to stay! Great room, wonderful host. Breakfast was great, just right to set you up for the day. This was our 2nd stay and hopefully we'll return again next year. Can't fault at all .

The room was clean & functional. The bed was clean and comfortable, the en-suite was good. The beer was good as was the scampi. The cooked breakfast was good too. The owner/ manager was very friendly and helpful.

Lovely little place with a wonderful host. Family room was large and very comfortable. Breakfast was great and very enjoyable. WiFi was a bit temperamental but we managed ok. Great for a more affordable stay near cheddar ( 30 mins away) noise from main road outside might disturb some but we soon acclimatised. All in all a nice comfortable weekend at a reasonable price

Very convenient location for the Royal Bath & West Showground. Owner was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Room was a little small but contained everything we needed and was very comfortable. We ate here on both nights of our stay and the food was great. Breakfast was also lovely. The room would benefit from a few cosmetic improvements but we would certainly stay here again.

Had to wait at the bar for 10 minutes before someone came out to check us in. Landlord was very friendly though. Room was tiny and decor outdated. Only one plug socket in room to charge phone etc. Towels were old and tatty, kettle tiny and lead barely reached the plug socket from ledge. Wifi code did not work, despite multiple attempts. Only bottles and cans of beer, no beers on draught. Not much choice for food and overpriced for what it was. Pub area was very cold to sit in and smelt of eggs. The room was cheap though and included a good breakfast.

Jeff, the owner is very friendly and take good care of the guests on his own! Love the family-like style staying in the historical mill transformed hotel.

We ate supper and had breakfast in the hotel - both meals were good. The only point to make is that the room we had would be small for a long stay, but there may be larger ones. I left my glasses behind and Geoff, the owner, posted them back to me the next day.

The owner was very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was adequate. Amenities needs upgrading otherwise pretty comfortable.
