Check in easy. Room 8 clean, but at front of property with poor noise insulation from major main road. The entry door safety chain had been pulled out of the wall leaving a large unfilled hole in the wall. The toilet seat was loose and did not fit the porcelain. Check out easy.

Room was a good size, clean and well presented, could have taken an armchair. Bath clean and tidy Room was warm and you were able to turn up/down radiator. Would rebook in February after this visit.

Told the place was closing at 6pm, but no one was there at 5:50 when we arrived, but could access the room. Dinner booked on line was then not available as the staff had left for the day - no notice of this 😡 until someone rang to see what time we were arriving. Breakfast was not well organised and the earliest time had been changed to 9:00am - it was 9:45 before we were served due to the queueing system and residents not being served first. We were then charged for a breakfast which was included in our booking as room numbers were not asked for. Might stop again if certain small issues were addressed. We await refund for the breakfast…..

Perfectly adequate room for a one night stopover. We were informed upon check-in that the heating wasn't working and were offered a free breakfast (which we'd already pre-paid for) and were told that would be refunded but that wasn't mentioned again. We ate in the pub/restaurant and the food and service was good and the staff polite.

Don't stay on a Thursday the noise from the pub quiz is dreadful. No idea why the person doing quiz needs to be so loud that conversation in the pub is impossible. The rooms are basic - okay for one night. We have stayed here 4 times before as the location is perfect for us, the rooms have always been clean but on this occasion the bathroom was not properly cleaned and had hairs in sink on on toilet seat. The communal areas were also grubby and not clean

Clean, quite lovely staff and good food. The corner on the mirror shelf in the bedroom fell off. Just needs to be glued back on. The lights in the bathroom was flickering all the time not good for elderly or someone with epilepsy. Just sort these two things out. Everything else was great.

Clean room, good food at the bar however the drinks proces are ridiculous. £22 for 2 glasses of wine that was thin and cheap

Very nice place to stay

Plenty of parking. The bar was lovely clean and tidy and somewhere I’d be happy to spend the evening.

I thoroughly enjoyed my overnight stay and will certainly return next time I am in the area. I will also recommend the Crown to friends. Thank you all for your friendly efforts.
