Had a 2 night stay at this property, very happy with our visit, couldn't really fault it to be fair, as we didn't really spend a lot of time there apart from our first night. The room was clean and the bed was very comfy, the staff were very helpful and cheerful, had breakfast on both mornings, opted for the classic breakfast, which was ample, the bar was well stocked and plenty staff serving. If I was to be picky, it is very minor points, I requested a twin room, but had a room for disabled use, so no twin beds or a standard en suite bathroom, tried for a change, but no other room was available, which is fair enough. We had a proper meal on our first night, both our food order was on the dry side, but still edible (I assume due to venue was busy being a Saturday and popular for the carvery?) The décor/furniture in the bar/food area could do with freshening up. Apart from that, I would use it again, was ideal for my purposes.

Great - a no frills basic clean room with comfy bed and all you would expect. Easy check in at the pub by the cake counter and check out via card drop box. The pub serves great food (delicious carvery!). A convenient and comfortable stay for us and we will be back.

We use this hotel around once a year with our children. Always a great stay. Nice and quiet as separate from the pub, great parking. Clean and tidy, and good sized rooms. Lovely park in the beer garden. Great to have pub restaurant next door for evening meal and breakfast if required.

Great room, clean, comfortable and perfect for our one night stay. Great bath and shower with plenty of hot water. Enjoyed a lovely carvery meal in the evening but skipped breakfast as we had a long drive. Food menu very comprehensive and very reasonably priced. Lovely staff.

Super clean room. Staff were friendly but had to walk through the busy pub to check in. Not enough sweetners in the room for tea and coffee.

When checking in I was asked for ID, I didn’t really have anything and said oh, I’ve stayed many times and never been asked. He said well you would have because it’s company policy! I said honestly, in all the years I’ve stayed at Marstons Inns I’ve never been asked, but I don’t think he believed me. Then, once in our room I checked the pull down seat in the shower area as we’ve had problems before and hubby is disabled. It was stuck fast, I yanked as hard as I could, trying not to pull it off the wall. Nope, Anyway a nice young girl came over and after much banging and bashing it came down. But the seat was loose, we managed, but it probably needs maintenance. It’s also very frustrating that hotels always leave the shower head so high that a wheelchair user can’t reach it and as a short partner, in her 70’s hate having to climb up to get it. It’s a pet hate of mine, that I usually mention. If only cleaning staff were to check that the seat works and the shower head is low, there’s usually only a few accessible rooms, please, please teach them this simple thing.

Great place to stay, clean, tidy, staff very accommodating, only negative is the price of drinks, £9.25 for a large wine is a bit much
