Clean,friendly,lovely location and nice staff. For a three star it’s definitely only just missing out on being a four star as was hard to fault and we had a great two nights there. Food was very good,staff were friendly and attentive,rooms clean and warm with nice fittings and drinks at the bar reasonably priced. Will be staying again as loved our visit and did some great walking in the local area.

We stayed in one of the shepherds’ huts and it was fantastic - beautiful hot shower, really useful kitchen facilities and perfect accommodation for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The staff were all so welcoming and the light breakfast in the dining room the next morning of toast and cereal with fresh filter coffee, tea and juice was just enough to set us up for the day. Would highly recommend!

The Grains bar hotel was selected over others primarily for its location which had several teenage memories. We were visiting family in Smallbridge, Rochdale ... 4miles away, so very convenient. Excellent greeting and first impressions. Ample seating areas, small bar area next to reception, large brekki, dining room but lacked atmosphere. Other rooms (not viewed incl Wedding venue) available. Good meals and menu. Rag pudding...well! Yes, the parking is a tad awkward, ie circa 20 spaces immediately outside the hotel. On busy nights manouvering into available bays is awkward due to angular layout especially if you are in a large/long vehicle ... but is possible pe. There is an overspill car park which is circa 25m x 25 squar immediately below the main car park so up steps to the hotel. Clean & tidy room, however well used and could do with refreshment. Staff very attentive. Would go again. Always room for improvement nence score.

This small family owned hotel is lovely with personalized service. Rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable and needs are always met.

Staff were great, hotel was lovely. Unfortunately the hotel didn't offer the facilities we needed, we wanted more flexibility with bar/restaurant opening or something else within easy walking distance. Great, just not for us.

Amazing as always, my little peaceful getaway

This is a great hotel our room was spacious clean with a comfy bed and beautiful view of the countryside. The team at Grains Bar were very friendly and made us so welcomed

Lovely stay. Nice warm rooms. Good to chose either complimentary light breakfast or opt for a cooked breakfast at a very reasonable price. Fabulous views and sunrise/sunsets too

I did not have breakfast because my host had it prepared at her home. But I am sure it must have been scrumptious. The standards in other areas were an evidence of excellence all the way.
