Handy stay and 'cheap and cheerful' describes it best. Staff were lovely, but understfffed (someone was off ill, so hardly anyone's fault though) and getting hold of someone was tricky.

The breakfast was excellent the staff went out if their way to ensure I had everything I needed. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection and the staff even though were run off their feet found time to chat and engage with all customers at breakfast.

On arrival (small group of us on motorcycles), we were warned of a recent motorcycle theft from the property and the need to properly secure them. One of the staff (Jason) even loaned us an additional lock and chain to secure bikes. Extremely helpful, honest and friendly service and advice. All staff in fact (bar, restaurant) were extremely polite, friendly and helpful.

Kings highway as gone down hill no air-conditioning anymore, loads of bugs and a massive spider in my room I had to leave at 11.30 pm as room was like im a celebrity get me out of there, the woman who served me as zero customer service skills her and her manager was laughing over the phone about my complaint like bugs are nothing, refused me refund also, i couldn't give it any less than 1 star even that's to good for that room and customer service, also it absolutely stinks on the corridors of sweat,feet and tobacco as they house people who dont pay for there rooms its more like a hostel than a hotel used to stay alot never again, bring back the old staff and send them ones back to the job centre to learn some customer service skills and get a job where you dont use manners.DISGUSTING AVOID.

I stayed the night to attend a local wedding venue. Gemma spoke with me on the phone and patiently answered all of my questions and concerns. When I arrived Jason at the check in desk was so kind and moved heaven and earth to get me a room that was ready so that I could change and leave for the wedding. Both staff members were so kind and welcoming and professional. I couldn’t be happier with my experience.

Breakfast was excellent value cooked breakfast and continental great value. Neither of my two rooms had been cleaned properly but the manager did grab a bar member and go straight over and cleaned both rooms immediately and offered us free drinks.

Toilet seat in room was covered with dried urine, so obviously not been cleaned. Had a shower before we left this morning and there was black pubic hair in the bath which definitely didn't belong to me. We used the app last night to order a meal for some reason this hadn't gone through, we questioned why our meal hadn't been served and that is when we realised. We had travelled from Lincolnshire so didn't arrive till after 8pm, the chef was absolutely brilliant and sorted us out with a meal even though the kitchen had closed so big credit and call out to the chef, thank you so much for your compassion! The guy who checked us in was lovely and friendly alo g with the bar staff. Just a shame about the room cleanliness.

The check in is in the pub which is fine. Friendly greeting. Parking very close so that's great. Room big. Basic. Shower good. Room has the distant smell of cigarettes. Probably lingering in the sofa bed. My company laptop and mobile wouldn't accept the Marston's WiFi so I had to toggle from my personal phone. Nearby M&S was perfect as I didn't want to dine in the pub.

Staff were all extremely nice and helpful. Nice breakfast. Electric charger not working. Not the end of the world as there are chargers round the corner by Tkmaxx

So much hair on my bed , checked in and there was piss in the toilet and on the seat , they moved me to another room so staff was great but then this next room had loads of random hair all over the bed

The staff here are very polite and professional. The rooms look a bit tired and the bath plug has not even got a chain??? It's the second time on a visit that we have mentioned this issue. The meter on top of the heater keeps showing that the windows were open but of course they were not. The TV in the room was very difficult to turn off and when searching for a programme the tv jumped 2 channels at a time. That is basic stuff that should be regularly checked. Because there were so many of these silly issues we didn't complain because the staff were all working at pace across the tables and the bar. Why is there only 1 bedside table??????? Our only complaint at breakfast was that for some odd reason you have stopped using teapots and in it's place you provide tiny cups, that in our opinion is poorly thought out. You should either bring back teapots or at least offer mugs. I'd question why you don't provide saucers with your cups, it's good etiquette.

The room was dated , there was a broken sofa in the room , faulty bed side lights , dust galore and there was hair in the bath.

Fantastic value for money. Service brilliant , staff couldn’t do enough for you.
