The property was easy to find and we were welcomed on our arrival. We were given an upgrade to a family room, which was much appreciated! The room was clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend the Telstar!

Good value. A quirky building with interesting decor and artwork! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Good places to eat close by. The parking is a bit awkward and you need better directions to find it. (The driveway is straight off the mini-roundabout.) The room was rather poky, the en-suite even more so. But the shower was good with easy controls. Noisy at night at the front. Probably fine at the back. Cooked breakfast is good but the buffet is poor apart from the tea which is great and the water urn stays good and hot! The stairs are tricky if your bag is heavy or you have more than one.

Stayed one night for music event nearby. Location perfect for walking into city centre & train station. Very clean, food good, beds super comfy. Kettle, tea, coffee & towels all available to use in our room. Staff very friendly & attentive. Parking at rear was FOC - nice perk! Very quiet at night - our room was at rear. After returning from our gig on a cold wet April night, it was so so nice to open the front door and the central heating had been put on. 😊

This was perfect for a uni visit stay. Excellent location close to the station and town centre. The building is a fantastic Victorian villa with lots of quirky original features and decorated really nicely. The staff are really welcoming. Breakfast was really good and included in our rooom rare which is a bargain! We stayed in 2 rooms and the beds were really comfy. Room has everything you need though bring your own hairdryer if you have thick/long hair. Shower is fine - not overly strong but these rooms are sympathetically styled into an old Victorian building - don't expect a walk in shower with rain attachment! Would absolutely recommend and will definitely stay again.

The room and hotel was not like the photos. Blinds had stain on them and did not fully close. The skirting boards, picture rail and around the door handles was filthy. The lady sorting the breakfast was lovely.

Very dated decor ( not necessarily Victorian!) so many higgldy pickdly steps and differing floor levels all over the place. Was a pleasant stay but definitely not for anyone with mobility concern.

Nice clean room, even had a small balcony! Superb location - 10 minutes walk from Exeter St. David's Railway Station, and only a 10 minute walk into Exeter City Centre. Staff very helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was excellent.

My single room at The Telstar was so small that I couldn't even open up my umbrella to dry it out. I spent much of my time in the room with my teeth chattering because the small radiator simply didn't generate enough heat to warm the bedroom and the postage-stamp-sized bathroom. When I checked in, I specifically asked if housekeeping was provided every day and I was assured that it was. Upon returning the first day around 4:30 p.m.,however, the bed was still unmade and the towels hadn't been replaced. I reported it to the woman at the front desk and she brought up clean towels and cleaned the bathroom sink herself. Housekeeping did show up the next day, but left me without a bath mat. Because I was cold and wet from being out all day, I decided to take a hot shower. But even after running the water for about 15 minutes, it was still only luke warm, although the water first thing in the morning was nice and hot. Probably the only thing I can say in The Telstar's favor is that the full English breakfast served every morning was excellent and the servers were pleasant and efficient.
