The girls who work there are very nice indeed. The owner, an apparently very rich local, who knew we were there for a week, didn't bother to introduce himself or be at all pleasant whilst we were there, unlike the manageress next door at White Grass, who was super nice and really helpful (we ate there as so much nicer place and food). Also NOT good value for money - boat trip to 'The Blue Cave' was MORE expensive than the same thing complete with dive equipment and nice boat and chance to snorkel etc just next door. UNBELIEVABLE. Now look at the photo below - this was a mess from day one, as my daughter left toothpaste all over, so we thought they'd clear it up as they clean every day but they just left it there the whole week. Amazing. And the owner was always around with his wife in a way that we did not enjoy as well in the bar area, with no wifi in the bedrooms by the way. We will not return there...

Upon arrival at this small Tanna island airport, we were warmly greeted by their staff and assist us to the hotel. Alyssa and Clera are very helpful explaining places around the island and their facilities to us. Arranged all meals for us daily. Excellent service!

Our experience was horrible. Giving 1 star as is not possible to rate less than 1 star. I hope this review serves as a warning for everyone. We had booked via Expedia and I honestly wish I had read the google reviews prior to making this booking as we’ve faced almost every possible problem listed by users in other google reviews. While booking in Expedia, we had booked a “private bungalow” - let me tell you this, in reality this is no where close to a bungalow but resembles a tribal hut. The website only listed 1 picture of this so called “bungalow” which is just the bed and my option very misleading. The room lacked basic amenities such as a kettle, a fan that works in full speed, glasses to drink water etc which you usually expect. Out of desperation, we were forced to upgrade to a “villa room” for a ridiculously expensive charge. Out of the 2 days we stayed here, we faced below issues: - No hot water in shower - Water stopped mid shower 4 times and we had to wait in the shower praying it comes back soon (I’ve had a better experience camping in the wild) - The breakfast was terrible and seriously a joke, they served bread but did not offer jam/butter along with this. I’ve travelled to many third world nations but this has to be a first of its kind. - Lack of cleanliness in the room for the amount being charged as room fare - Charge for wifi - seriously who does that in this day and age?! All in all, this resort is ridiculously expensive and very subpar in providing services

The resort has a majestic view of the ocean, the pool is definitely the highlight of the hotel, where you can overlook the ocean, perfect insta photo spot. Note that hotel will charge you for Wifi (if u wanna use) for $500 Vatu per day per room (not a lot). One major event is that, we booked a tour going to the blue cave prior to our arrival online, and there were also tours provided on the spot at the hotel, and on the day we were supposed to go on tour, the tour bus didn't show up. After an hour spent checking with hotel staff and calling the tour agency, it turns out some other hotel guests booked the same tour with the hotel the day before, and the tour bus only took them on tour because they said 'the hotel mentioned there were only 3 guests staying in the hotel, they did not got an update where more guests were coming', the whole miscommunication was a mess and we ended up missed half day of our tour. We really think the hotel do have responsibility, and we never got a proper explanation. So do bear in mind to tell the hotel in advance, just in case anything unlucky happens. The food was great on our first day, however second day was not so good. Coffee in general sucks, would be better if you bring your own dripping coffee lmao. Food was generally very expensive in the resort, and the quality sometimes fluctuate. All in all, the room and the view of the hotel is great, just that the staff can sometimes be unhelpful.

Liked the ocean and grounds. Did not like power outages, many times wi fi did not work, and the flys. Easy to walk to White Grass next door for food variety. Needs roof repair.

Nice hotel however the pool was so dirty we did not want to use it and on one of the days they actually fully emptied it to clean it. Other that that the staff was very friendly and the spot in front of the hotel to snorkel was amazing.

Absolutely awesome location, Management, and tourist support on Tanna. Location hotel is close to airport and its located on a reef. When you have time you walk out the back side of hotel and swim on reef with fantastic fish and coral to see...really neat. Management was superb ...stephanie the lady that runs the front office was flawless...i didnt bring a adapter for American plug for laptop...she helped with one of her own. She advised on the reef swim instead of some tours. Tours she recommended were superb....really made Tanna rock..she advised on transport info also...all on target...Superb! Tours support...the lodge offered numerous tours...therw was no need to look outside anywhere...i got to see the best of the Island. Internet at restaurant was very good...stable for voice calls... Overall. This is my new favorite resort nextvto hilton village in hawaii ..... Thanks you to everyone at this resort for all the support....even stephs husband was helpful....fantastic people and resort

Amazing location. Such a unique and intereating resort. So much space and peacefulness. Snorkeling out the front was better than the blue hole 2, blue cave or diving at circus reef so no need to go any further. Staff were all friendly, lots of food options, restaurant served food whenever you wanted pretry much. Perfect place to base yourself to do trips around Tanna Island

Evergreen has a lot going for it. Unfortunately some of the facilities were not in operation (the pool) and the restaurant and tours are pricey. This is somewhat understandable given its remoteness. I would have preferred a simpler menu with more budget options (especially with kids) and tours priced as a package rather than per head because this made them very expensive for a family. On the plus side the snorkeling out front of the resort is fabulous.

Really great location and tours offered. We wish we would have had longer than one night. We also did the volcano tour and they catered to our circumstances.

Evergreen resort does offer pretty good snorkeling, tho the walk out over the coral to get to it is a bit daunting . It is a handy stop over near the airport to travel in and out of Tanna Island. The rooms were ok tho lacked any bed-side tables to put anything on. The towels were thin and well used and the bed and pillows were on the hard side. The dining room had a good view but the biggest frustration was the seeming slackness of the waiting staff. Meals would often take 45 mins to an hour to arrive, even when we said we were catching a plane. We had to follow up on our meals a number of times and once they arrived luke-warm as they must have been sitting on a shelf. On the first night half the menu was crossed off. The breakfast, especially on the first day was abysmal, ne’re a pawpaw to be seen and only a half a banana for the whole tray of fruit. Over all the food was only adequate but many people eat at the resort restaurant next door. I got a sense of a resentful attitude among the staff. But there was a nice fire lit near the restaurant by in the evening which was nice to sit by and the Tanna coffee was good. We were also shocked to learn , when our washing was still wet 28hours after we gave it to the laundry - after a sunny drying day, that there is no washing machine for the whole retreat and the girls do the washing by hand including all the sheets ( while the manager is building a fancy new swimming pool for his fantasy of it being a 5 star resort).

Reasonable level of comfort. Nice restaurant but pricey. Tours are an absolute rip off - very poor value for money and really touristy and contrived. Lunch on the tour abysmal. We did the cultural combo tour (absolutely to be avoided) and the ultimate volcano safari (pretty rubbish apart from the volcano). Avoid at all costs and just take a trip to the volcano separately !

Mike the manager greeted us and was very knowledgable and friendly, as were all the staff. We were upgraded to a beautiful room as the room we booked was still smelly from recent repairs. The resort has beautiful casual tropical island feel and looks out over calm shallow rocky seas with coral reefs close in. The Yasur volcano tour was the highlight of our stay, a unique experience seeing and feeling the molten rock and ash glowing orange and blasting into air.
