Perfect location in the historic old town. So quaint and beautiful and we felt it was a good value for the money. Went all the way to the top observation platform and flew my drone capturing the rolling majesty of Quito. You can walk to many attractions and lots of food options nearby. I want to stay again.

This is an amazing historic building. It has a great atmosphere, phenomenal features, and the quirks and noise that come with a historical building.

There is ONE room in the hotel that is like the room shown in pictures. The rest of the rooms have badly worn furniture, very old bedspreads that have faded (couldn’t tell if they’d been washed or not), towels that were shredding due to overuse and the bathrooms are ancient with shower heads that spray random spots of water. For breakers every morning you get 2 eggs (scrambled or fried) with fruit and cold bread rolls. The menu NEVER changes. We were supposed to stay here another 3 nights but cancelled and found a better hotel. At the very least, don’t pay before you get there so that you can cancel if you’re unhappy with your room. I took pictures of the room to share with my review but I don’t see anyplace to add them.

The staff of this location are exceptional. There was delicious made to order breakfast every morning. We relied heavily on the front desk staff since we speak little Spanish. They recommended lunch spots, called us taxis, and helped at every opportunity. The hotel is older but very clean. The front door is locked at all times and the front desk buzz you in and out. This added security helped us to feel safe at all times. I would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a worry free stay.

Great place to stay in Wiito

We loved our stay here. The staff was kind and friendly, even though we arrived very late at night (after 2AM). The beds were very comfortable, and the breakfast was ample. The location was also convenient for walking to the Historic Center. And the view from the rooftop was thrilling! We could see Cotopaxi in the distance. We would absolutely stay here again.

Generally the property was in a good location and the staff spoke English. The room was spacious. The bathroom could be cleaner.

Good bang for your buck lodging option in the heart of viejo Quito !

The staff is amazing. They are helpful and will do whatever they can to advise on quick and thoughtful matters. The building is aged and has challenges expected for the hotel age. Water is not always hot, walls are thin and rooms are not independently heated. It’s a great stay due to the central location however, there’s major road noise.

The hotel is situated in an historic home - unique and quirky. It’s very old, 5th oldest home in Quito, so don’t expect modern amenities. However, the staff were amazingly helpful and the rooms were very clean. It’s a bit loud as located right off a busy street. we were there during Carnival so lots of festivities.

The hotel is centrally located within easy walking distance of many of the main sites in the Historical Center. The staff are friendly and helpful. A couple caveats… if you are in room 8, there is a lot of road noise at all times of the day and night. The floors are very creaky.

This hotel was absolutely amazing. It was stepping back in time but with comfort and great service. The breakfast included was so delicious with fresh fruit, fruit juices, eggs, pastries and delicious coffee, and served to our table. All the men who worked the front desk helped in whatever information, taxi needs, extras we needed. Thank you Hotel San Francisco de Quito!!

Hotel San Francisco de Quito is a clean and friendly property. The staff are always smiling and greeting guests, and they make the hotel a welcoming place. The hotel is in the heart of the historic centre, but with that, comes with traffic and noise. No matter where you are in the hotel you’ll hear the street outside. As a light sleeper, I found this challenging. Guests having discussions outside of their rooms also makes this challenging. I had the pleasure of hearing a guest tell other guests how he was recently retired, discovered day trading and listed the reasons why he was disappointed in his children (and then questioned why they don’t speak to him). At 2am I heard a couple loudly debate who had the key, and any discussions being held in the lobby echo throughout the hotel. One early morning I even had the joy of a guest doing wake up calls for his group. It’s a shame that the noise echoes so much throughout the hotel because it truly is a beautiful hotel with such friendly staff in a great location. Maybe I was unlucky with the behaviour of the other guests, but because the staff really made Hotel San Francisco de Quito such a welcoming place I would give it another chance.

Easy walk from the Metro. Felt very safe. Great ambience, well decorated locally, nice courtyard & views of the city from upper patio. Simple breakfast but good. Would definitely stay again.

Great place for the price with great location! Beautiful old colonial style building and rooms! Very friendly stuff, almost like family! Very good experience!

I enjoyed my stay. I needed to rest and i was able to relax and sleep. The staff are auper nice and efficient. I will definitely will be back here
