Well-located hotel with a pretty courtyard , rooftop terrace and historical significance. Amenities basic (just soap shampoo and towels) but the shower was hot with good pressure. Breakfast also basic but well balanced with fresh fruit, fresh juice, bread, eggs and sometimes humitas. They offered upon arrival complimentary wine as Expedia VIP perk which was nice (some VIP hotels don't remember to recognize it). Staff were helpful to store my medicine in the hotel fridge and book a ride to the airport (who showed up on time). One downside, noise control. It's very quiet generally but since the rooms face the court yard when the reception phone rings any time of day it echos. There was a tour group staying there that met for a departure briefing in the courtyard at 5:30 am and we could hear everything. I don't know what the hotel can do other than to call for courtesy. Overall, id definitely stay again.

A beautiful and quaint hotel in the historic district. A nice inner yard with plenty of greenery an flowers. Unfortunately there is no bar or dinner restaurant in the hotel, only a breakfast area. Breakfast is also a bit sparse, but will still recommend a stay. Plenty of bars and restaurants close by and nice pedestrian streets.

Old historical property with a beautiful qutrangle space filled with comfortable sitting and awesome plants. Ariel and Ricardo were very helpful and friendly. There are many restaurants...though the breakfast they serve with fresh juice, fruits, fresh made order for eggs, ham, tea and coffee ..loved their fresh bread . The hotel sends laundry for wash and dry if you request It is close to historical buildings, Cathedrals and awesome Coffee/Chocolate restaurants . Would definitely recommend this hotel I

Beautiful 400-year-old hotel in the central historic district of Quito. The floorboards are squeaky but that can be expected in such an old building.

This is a backpacker hotel, you can't sleep without earplugs. Hallway lights going offa My "suite" room at $150 per night was a disaster and i moved out 2 days early. There is no such thing as a "suite" in a ba kpacker hotel, just a larger room that is just as bad as all the other rooms. Rude noisy backpakers are loud late at night and early in the morning. Its worth $45 a night, not $150 per night. Its a 1.5 star experience, no sleep, old noisy and sad hotel.

We had an overall very positive experience staying at this hotel. The property itself was nice and generally clean. Housekeeping did a great job with daily service, including making the beds and tidying up the room. That said, there were a few small details that could be improved, such as empty bottles occasionally being left on the patio areas. Breakfast was simple but good, and it was a nice way to start the day. One minor inconvenience was that getting extra towels sometimes took a bit of time, especially during busier periods. The location was definitely a highlight. Being situated in the Old Town area made it incredibly easy to walk around and explore, and we found the people in the area to be very friendly and welcoming. There were a couple of drawbacks worth noting. The hotel does not have air conditioning, which wasn’t ideal, and on a few nights it was quite loud outside. Since opening the windows lets in a lot of noise, it made sleeping a bit challenging at times. Overall, I would rate this hotel a solid 4 out of 5 for Quito. With just a few improvements, it could easily be even better.

The courtyard was so beautiful. The history of the building added to the intrigue and charm. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful 2 night stay. Safety was a high priority with a fare to buzz in guests. The breakfast was very nice and again the cavern environment told a story that added to the experience. It’s a gem in Quito.

The building itself is the most interesting part of the experience, and worth exploring. It's in a convenient location and offers great views. Our room was comfortable and beautifully furnished. The staff we encountered are bi-lingual (at least) and very helpful. The breakfasts provided were tasty but also among the healthier I've experienced in a hotel. We enjoyed our stay and would use this hotel again. My only criticism is that they are a bit stingy with niceties like pillows (2 hard ones provided; softer available by request), bottled water (none in-room), and washcloths (zero). The built-in hairdryer in Rm 8 is hazardous and should be replaced.
