This hotel was a lovely place to stay for my 2 night trip - the staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was cleaned very well each day, and the restaurant served a great mix of flavourful food.

Beautiful property. Exceptional artwork in the public areas. Spacious room with comfortable bed. No elevator, but staff ferried my bags up and down from the second floor. Excellent gift shop and restaurant.

Wonderful overnight stay for the start of our safari. Staff and facilities were delightful. Ambiance was warm and welcoming. Our dinner and breakfast buffet were great. We had a short but very pleasant stay. Would definitely come again.

It is a beautiful hotel and property in the heart of Arusha. The staff is so attentive and kind from the moment you enter. The restaurant and bar were great too! Would definitely stay here again next time!

Spacious and very clean. We were upgraded to a suite for our family (2A2K) free of charge, which was nice. Very nice pool and deck. Continental breakfast was excellent.

We stayed at The African Tulip Hotel for 2 nights before taking a safari. We arrived late in the evening and the front desk was staffed and a bellman available to take our bags to our room. I travel with my own breakfast food and requested that a glass of milk be sent to my room at 6:00 am. At 6:00 am on the dot, there was a knock at the door. Our room was safari themed, was spacious and clean and even had universal outlets for our electronic devices. The water is not safe to drink (or anywhere else in Tanzania) but is safe to brush your teeth...but we did not take that risk. The hotel provided ample bottles of water. They have a nice bar and restaurant. We had Indian food which was very, very good. The staff...from the manager on down to the bellman are customer focused and are there to please. The hotel is gated and has a security guard at the entrance. The pool is on the small side but we did not go to Tanzania to swim so it was fine for us. I would definitely stay there again should our travels take us back to Arusha.

Just a quick stay over from cross-country travel before flying out, but very nice property, very attentive staff and very professional hotel manager. Rooms were big, bright, clean well appointed and lovely. Also, very nice bar area, restaurant, pool area and cute gift shop. Also, nice and quiet for a good night's sleep!

If you like to sleep on concrete, and pay top dollar for the experience, then this is the hotel for you! I have travelled and stayed in all manner of accomodation, this was clean, rooms airconditioned, but the bed was the WORST I have EVER slept in. It was so bad that for our remaining two nights, I relocated to the 'day bed' to sleep. And I thought the beds in SE Asia were hard..... they are positively plush in comparison. Thankfully this was the only hotel we came across during our travels around Tanzania that had such beds. We arrived late following an extremely long flight and a three hour wait for bags that didn't make the flight and were told by the receptionist that the dining room was open. We put our hand lughage into our room, and went straight down. We were not offered any menus, just that the waiter would bring soup and then we could help ourselves to the buffet that I suspect had seen better days. There were some crumbs left on the 'dessert' table, and not a great deal else. They still had the Christmas lights up, which would have been nice, had they not been accompanied by a tacky tune you'd expect from a child's toy constantly repeating. It wasn't until the following day that we discovered there was a cheaper, simple menu we could have ordered from. The breakfast was very good, so no complaints there. The staff were very nice, but we watched the interactions with them and the manager, and we gathered from bloody language, tone etc that he wasn't particular
