A very bad booking experience. I booked a one-bedroom room with a living room, but upon check-in, the receptionist stated that the room was unavailable. The options were to move to a smaller room (with lunch) or to another hotel 11 km away. It was already 1:30 a.m. and there were elderly guests, so moving to another hotel was not an acceptable option. We requested that the booking details and price be adjusted to reflect the room we were actually staying in, as we couldn't take advantage of the lunch (we already had other plans). However, the management refused and charged us the price for a one-bedroom room with a living room, which was more expensive than the room we were actually staying in. We are Ascott members, and it was surprising that Oakwood, a 5-star hotel, would offer such service.
Terrible booking experience. I booked a one-bedroom room with a living room, but when I checked in, the receptionist said the room was unavailable and the options were to downgrade to a smaller room with lunch or a room in another hotel 11 km away. It was at 1:30 in the morning and the guest was elderly, so it was not acceptable to move to another hotel. We asked to change the booking details and were charged the price for the room that was given because we could not take the lunch as we already had other plans. However, the management refused to do that and kept charging us the price for a 1 bedroom with a living room, which was more expensive than the room we actually used. We are Ascott members, and it is surprising that Oakwood, a 5-star hotel, provided such service.
