Had a great overnight stay, great location and views. Room was nice and great breakfast too. Definitely will return for longer

Spacious family room with plenty of space for our stay. The room was clean, and the breakfast was excellent with a good variety of choices. We had a very pleasant experience.

Really clean, great location, friendly and helpful staff.

We had an upgraded room on the ground floor because we took our little dog. It was fabulous, so easy to get outside for her if needed. The drinks were on the expensive side and so was the food, but, the food was one of the best we've had, it must be tried. The breakfast again was hot, plentiful and delicious. Very happy with our stay.

Clean roam Staff Bar Car park

We had a newly refurbished large room, but with a terrible view. Also it was a hike from the elevator to the room, down 8/10 stairs, long walk then down another 6 stairs and then immediately up another 6 stairs. No A/C or fridge, VERY limited parking, Once in we didn't dare take our car out for fear of not getting back in. Walkable location for everything Whitby has to offer, but it sits on the top of a hill, beautiful views from the hotel bar, but you will get your 10,000 steps in walking around Whitby then back up to the hotel.

Staff were great location was really good and room with a view was amazing and food in the restaurant was good.

Good location and nice enough room but lacked attention to detail

It’s a very old , historical hotel , needs restoration and renovation. But the bar is nice .

A big, bright room with a great view of the harbour and the Abbey on the hill. This is an older-style hotel, not a modern concrete box. Lots of character features. I’d happily stay here again.

Room was lovely with a nice sea view. Hotel itself was amazing and right where you want to be to stay in Whitby. Managed to get parked in the hotel car park which was a bonus. Perfect for a stay in Whitby.

The check in and car parking was good, the charge for parking was reasonable too. We had 2 rooms, 1 was luxurious and I'm sure was an upgrade. The other room was basic and not so good. It was dusty and had cobwebs, the shower wasn't good and the beds were noisy and uncomfortable. The breakfast was good.

Fabulous. Just the scaffolding spoiling views. Seems to be taking ages as we came last year and looks the same. Inside is beautiful. Outside needs attention. No air-conditioning but they left a fan so came in useful with the heat.

Very tired , everywhere , paint peeling from walls and windows, cracked bathroom sink . Suitcase scuffs on stair walls. Only toast ( soggy ) available for those not choosing a full English breakfast. Bar area only suitable for tall people , very raised seats. Parking very difficult , didn’t dare move car once parking found. No extra toiletries in bathroom . Permanent stain on bathroom floor behind toilet . This building could be magnificent with some TLC.

Another lovely stay in a great hotel.

All the staff were friendly and respectful also extremely helpful. Breakfast good, apart from the orange and apple juice which was warm ! Would have been a beautiful seaview, but unfortunately there was scaffolding up so couldn't see much of it.

The hotel is under renovation, but acceptable. We were not told about the need to reserve parking; you do need to do that at busy times. The attached restaurant was truly appalling the night we used it; avoid at all costs.
