It was paradise

It’s hard to describe the peace and serenity we felt at Akalki.

Everything about Akalki is excellent. The accommodation, the location, the staff, the yoga, the food, and the access to the amazing Bacalar Lake. It is truly a healing space and I try to come there as often as I can!

Great Stay, beautiful and relaxing experience

Our cabana was in the middle of a remodel. There was a tarp blocking half of the view, which was as the reason why we booked this hotel. The staff was quick to do a turnaround that worked out but wasn’t super ideal. The location of the cabanas right on the water is outstanding.

This hotel is truly paradise on earth. The combination of the turquoise water and the lush jungle is simply magical. The attention to detail is remarkable, and the restaurant offers delicious food with plenty of vegetarian options. We even saw spider monkeys and went snorkeling — an unforgettable experience!

Paradise on earth, truly holistic with free yoga every morning, and sound baths or chanting pr breathwork in the evening.

An absolutely magnificent property. The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. Highly recommended.

Amazing

Akalki is the perfect resort if you are looking for a quiet relaxing vacation. The staff are so welcoming. One particular staff that stands out was Luis. Always greeting us with a warm welcoming smile.

If you are looking for a quiet relaxing place this is it! I am not into yoga but if you are then this is the place for you. The staff are courteous and very helpful and the food is excellent and reasonably priced. We stayed for 3 nights and never left the area. The Lagoon is absolutely gorgeous. I recommend taking the boat tour as Jami was very iformative and friendly.

I have been waiting to stay here since I saw this resort the first time on the lagoon in 2021. I stayed at the over water cabana which offered beautiful lagoon view, unit 6 and 7 are newer units with glass patio doors. The cabanas are eco friendly therefore no AC but they provided 3 fans, the room is not completely sealed so some openings are covered with mesh to prevent bugs. Their temple is beautiful and they offer daily yoga or meditation. We also paid extra for the lagoon boat ride and met the captain yan who was so nice and knowledgeable. This is a place to connect to the nature so fish, birds, bugs and frogs might come out sometimes.

Had a beautiful stay in one of the lagoon villas. From the moment we arrived staff were incredibly helpful and attended to everything we needed. We took the opportunity to participate in the sound healing ceremony in the beautiful temple, which was a great experience. The grounds are beautiful and create an atmosphere conducive to relaxation. We also booked a couples Thai massage which was excellent. Food and drinks at the restaurant were top quality. Would definitely recommend for those looking to disconnect, slow down and rejuvenate.

Muy lindo y tranquilo para desconectarse y descansar, solo falta un poco más de variedad en el menú de comida, ya que no es fácil salir a comer a otro lado y las opciones, aunque saludables, son limitadas y parecidas.

WONDERFUL place! The rooms are beautiful for a getaway experience, the staff is beyond accommodating and friendly, the food is SO good!
