This is one of the best ryokans with private room’s onsen in Hakone.

Amazing property with gorgeous views. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Outdoor spa was used daily. Room amenities were great - shampoos, lotions, face mists, bamboo hairbrush, drinks etc. Had a chance to visit the spa and highlight recommend for a relaxing massage. Restaurant was above expectations and chef made it a memorable experience for us. We will be visiting again.

This was one of the best relaxation hotels that we ever stayed. Everything was beyond our expectations and indeed impressed us. Right from check in where the staff was very friendly and helpful and patiently explaining the premises. One of them accompanied us to our room and explained everything to us on the way as well as inside the room. The room was spacious, well equipped, and the view to the mountain was breath taking (West Building on 6th floor). The hot tub on the terrace was an amazing experience (be careful with the hot water and its temperature; 41c was set for us). The "Free Flow" lounge was indeed fantastic including the snacks, deserts, as well as variety of drinks from ginger ale and tonic soda all the way to red/white wines, number of Japanese whisky, as well as Sake. We put Hakone and this hotel intentionally as the last leg of our 2 week trip to Japan so that we could relax before flying back to Canada.

One of the most luxurious places we have been to. I would give it 7 * if I could. Clean, elegant, high quality amenities, superb service, friendly staff. Would go back again, again and again

What an amazing stay! Everything was so clean and well taken care of. I've recommend this property to all of my friends and family. Dinner was amazing! The room with the private onsen was so relaxing.

Absolutely beautiful property in a great location would definitely stay again. Though, we just felt organisation was lacking, informed them of my coeliac disease which they clarified over messages, but then on check in was asked again did we have any food allergies as if nothing had actually been recorded against our booking. And then on the morning of check out we went out for a walk, staff asked us our room number and if they could clean it and we informed them we were checking out that morning and had booked the shuttle bus. We clearly weren’t checking out right then as we didn’t have our bags or anything and the shuttle bus wasn’t for another 2 hours or so but a staff member chased us down outside to inform us that we still had an outstanding balance owing for city taxes as if we were leaving without paying.

This is certainly a five star hotel. The location is beautiful with spectacular views of the mountains. The sound of an adjacent creek was very calming. The staff was courteous and helpful. The food at the restaurant and guest lounge was delicious. Definitely I will be returning as soon as I can.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel in Hakone. The room was spacious, and I particularly loved having a private onsen. The atmosphere perfectly captured the charm of a traditional Japanese ryokan, making the stay feel really special. Breakfast was also beautifully presented and a great way to start the day. I would happily stay here again. My only recommendation for future guests would be to book dinner in advance. We were unable to dine at the hotel in the evening and struggled to find restaurants nearby with availability. Other than that, it was a fantastic stay.

From the moment we arrived, this luxury hotel exceeded every expectation. Our room featured a private onsen, which was one of the highlights of the stay. Soaking in the warm water while enjoying the quiet atmosphere was truly unforgettable. The dining experience was exceptional. The Michelin-starred dinner was beautifully presented and every dish was crafted with incredible attention to detail and flavor. Breakfast was equally impressive, with a wonderful selection of fresh and high-quality ingredients. What made this stay even more special was the tranquility of the hotel. It was so quiet and peaceful that I had one of the best sleeps I’ve had in a very long time. The entire experience felt deeply relaxing and rejuvenating. The staff were extremely polite, respectful, and attentive throughout our stay. Their hospitality made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for at every moment. Overall, it was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for luxury, relaxation, exceptional food, and unforgettable hospitality. We cannot wait to return.

Everything excellent! Guest lounge a real plus for coffee, juices, upscale snacks, wine and spirits. Mostly included in rate.. only possible fault is set menus are same every day if you’re staying 2 days or more.. Modern upscale ryokan.

It was a wondeful stay. while it is expensive, it is worth it for the level of facilities and staff. The breakfast is very traditional japanese but it is part of the full experience. People should embrace and try it because we had both the western and the japanese breakfast and both were very well prepared with fresh ingredients and great flavor. The staff tries to do a good job.
