I'm confused by the rating on this hotel. Overlooking the disaster I had, it was still old, run down hotel. It was built a long time ago and they are still using the same mattress, sheets (stained), towels (grey) I think. It was not horrible, but would not qualify to be in any chain. Their is no a/c, apparently no where on the island. You wouldn't think 70 degree weather would be that hot, but in the room it is. No screens in bathroom, so no cross breeze, lights shining through front window, weak ceiling fan. So no sleep. Hot water didn't work. They tried to fix it twice, nope. So no sleep sweating all night and the shower is ice cold. I wasn't looking for a hot shower, just not ice water. The grounds are beautiful (watch out for being right on the road, which this place isn't), the breakfast was good and large, but kept seeing the same un eaten items brought back every day. Perhaps put less out? I get it, it's an island, but the rating doesn't match the reality of this place. No idea if it's the best place on the island, but just be prepared. And probably don't visit the island during the summer.

OK but for $200 a night you might be a tad disappointed. OLDER, no screen on. bathroom window. Breakfast OK. The Moai are as stunning as they were when I was there 25 years ago but Hanga Rua (town) is quite a bit commercial. The streets and roads are surprisingly potholed; also, some of the locals drive like minor maniacs. I think Chile is draining money while putting little back in. Average restaurants are sub-average...go to Neptune Island or Kotaro if you can get in.

One of the better choices of hotels from what we have researched. Comfortable in the premium room. (Standard room was too basic-small and no air conditioning.) Very convenient to town and the owner was extremely accommodating. Could have used a thorough cleaning, though. (But then again, we are very particular). A bit over-priced for what you get but it is a remote island. Overall, pleased with our choice.

Lots of roaches (big and small) which is standard for island. Walls are very thin so hope you don’t have noisy neighbors.

I highly recommend this place! The property was just beautiful! The hotel was just a few blocks from the main commercial area of Hanga Roa, and was also close to the airport. The best part: the staff was super-friendly! Cons: Had some very minor issues with the toilet in the room, but was not a big deal at all. Also, the description on hotels.com said the hotel had air conditioning. My room did not; just a ceiling fan. Was not a big deal as I visited in Spring and the temps never got much above 75F-80F, so the ceiling fan and open windows sufficed. Also, no entertainment in the room, like a television. So bring you own books or movies. But the room itself was quite beautiful and comfortable. Pros: Super-friendly staff. Well-maintained hotel. Central location. WiFi in the common areas (worked fine). Good, free breakfast every morning. Airport transfer. In-room safe. Overall, I highly recommend staying in this place if you are coming to Easter Island!
