Room wasn’t to the standard I’m used to bathroom door wouldn’t open fully as it hit bed. Overall room quality was acceptable but small touches let it dow like curtains had crumbling backs which fell on floor when opened. I kept them shut during stay only opening them when leaving. Musty smell in room drawers smelt like that’s well which transferred onto my clothes kept within them causing me to go to Newport and buy new items for my holiday. It’s cheap for a reason and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone else.

The hotel is in a great location, it’s clean enough although things like the stair carpet could be replaced as it’s threadbare, but overall clean. The room was one of the cheaper ones, but it’s definitely tiny and the bathroom is awful, no need for a sink that big in such a tiny bathroom. Other than that it’s average. Sadly, the one star is due to the managers attitude, it’s absolutely disgusting and massively passive aggressive. We were woken by staff late at night as the payment hadn’t gone through…why it wasn’t taken at check in I do not know, why the last night? When we complained the next day, the manager at first apologised and blamed Experian, however Experian didn’t come knocking on my door late at night demanding money. When we stayed we didn’t accept the apology, we were met with a massive passive aggressive response, which just shows that any smiley helpful conversations were just fake. Absolutely no way we’d go there again with the attitude of the manager, absolutely disgusting

Rooms should be clean

We had a wonderful stay in Shanklin. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The beach view was beautiful and relaxing, especially in the evening. We also loved how close the hotel was to the national park and nature walks. Overall, it was a peaceful and enjoyable trip and we would definitely stay here again.

There was no beach view It was a side window with the ocean in the distance. Walls and doors paper thin and you heard everyone else coming up the stairs and talking. Prepare yourself for no sleep. Enjoyed isle of wight but won't return to the this accomodation.

The rooms were packed together. I could hear constant noise from 3 other rooms around me - talking very loudly until 2.00am and then starting again around 6.00am. Children ran up and down outside the rooms constantly. It's a shame because the hotel itself was very good.

Staff were very good and helpful. Especially the breakfast staff. It was a lovejy little hotel close to buses and trains. Also the lift up and down to the seafront was very convenient. I hope to revisit next year. Also a special mention to the receptionist on check out. Who checked out the train and ferry tunes for me. I was very pleased with everything.

Staff was friendly and helpful, the property was in a convenient spot, easy to get everywhere you want to go. The room was a little cramped, mostly the bathroom, but served its purpose just fine. Would stay again.

The property is well taken care of and well decorated. It has a very nice view from the canteen. It has live piano music during breakfast .
