I would stay here again. Comfy bed and good location. Drawback is elevator does not go from lobby to room floors, only between room floors. Lobby is between floors so luggage carts are almost pointless. Was offered help with luggage. Had cart full sitting at base of stairs to my room floor. Staff disappeared to find a cart? And didn't not return until I had taken all my luggage up the stairs alone. Very poor service. Pool was too highly chlorinated to swim in. I couldn't breathe in the pool area due to the chlorine smell and high humidity. Need better ventilation.

Arrived at about 4 am after some major airline delays and of course we were ready to crash. The front desk person was not expecting us for 1 of the rooms we had booked (weird?) and we had to wait to get into our rooms. When we got to the rooms we were pretty shocked at the state of things, one of the beds had blood stains on the sheets, dirty carpet, old, old, old everything. We were on the first floor and our window faced out into a parking lot full of crackheads, definitely did not feel very safe staying there. The other room had a mouldy bathtub and their A/C didn’t work. After 2 nights for some reason our room keys stopped working and we had to get new ones. We had to ask for new sheets 3 times before they got re-done. Would recommend you stay elsewhere.

***visited during Stampede, one night. Highlight was the friendliness of the staff. Pool hosts swimming lessons so was not available during when we would have wanted to go swimming. Gym is in very poor condition. Only one part of the cable machine worked and even at that, it worked poorly. Room came with one towel. Garbage was found in the room upon check in. No coffee on site. Location is good for Stampede. Prices were inflated due to Stampede. This is a discount hotel and that is reflected in amenities and upkeep.

There is no elevator on the main floor which was a little confusing and not ideal if you had multiple luggage sets to bring in.

The staff were absolutely lovely, and the connivance of the light rail was great - but the location was a bit rough and felt unsafe due to people around in day and night. The sheets and bed were clean and spotless, but the carpet and walls were quite stained and dirty with the hallway smelling of cigarettes often. Good for a budget stay.

We chose this hotel as it was frankly the only one available that was not $1000 a night when we booked a last minute trip for the Stampede. Both of us generally travel higher tier so we jokingly called it "camping". But it wasn't that bad for "camping". We slept very well - the beds were comfortable. It was clean enough and the staff were very friendly. Location is good too - quick Uber to downtown, and the light rail stop is right behind the property. The maintenance is just lacking. One of the two laundry sets were broken, our faucet dripped, blackout curtains didn't hang well so we couldn't close them all the way. No coffee machine in our room. Laundry when you can do it is free which is nice (bring your own laundry soap).

It was okay! Staff was friendly, room was decent, and portable ac unit. There was some duct tape hold something together that made me laugh but it was a 7/10 stay!

The location for the Calgary Stampede was absol perfect. The price is unbeatable. You may not like how aged the rooms are but I do not mind at all even though I tend to spend a lot on all my vacations.Chinook Centre one stop away. Stampede Park one stop away. Downtown 4 stops away. Lots of restaurants around the hotel and best of all was the CTrain(LRT). This is by far the biggest selling point. If you do not like seeing the homeless or crack addicts, do not stay here. I passed by them to get on the CTrain everyday 2-6 times. They never once spoke to me or intimidated me. Im a 59 yr old female with loads of experience. I would recommend this place if you are not fussy or if you are on a budget.

Hotel is centrally located, which is nice. However, rooms do not have air conditions (fans are provided - and this is clear in the amenities page on their website), but our TV didn’t work, bathtub had stains, and there was a hole in the wall. Due to it being Stampede week, I paid a higher price for the room compared to any other week of the year. I paid enough that they could spend half of one room night to replace the TV. It is obvious that upgrades and repairs are not a priority here. We asked for a new room because promised amenities like the TV were unavailable and they said they were fully booked (which is odd because I could still book a room online). Staff were friendly. Pool was out of order for 2 of my 3 night staff. Basically, you get what you paid for. I paid a lower price compared to other hotels for Stampede week and I accept what I got.

The room was clean, check in staff were amazing, parking good! Went to Stampede easy access to Calgary Metro train and only one stop away! The only complaint was there is no elevator to access your room had to carry bags up stairs, but staff did offer to help carry for us! No breakfast available but great rate!

Our window faced the west side of the building and the train noise was very loud every time it went by (3 or 4 times each evening .

It is located directly next to a train station which made travel very easy within the city and for local events.

This property has seen better days. The onsite restaurant is closed and has been for awhile. The small fitness room had broken equipment and missing weights. No ironing board in the room and the requested one never arrived. Only 1 hanger. Shower did not work. The bath drained very slowly. No room phone or mini fridge. Not a lot of sit down restaurants in a 15 mins walk outside of fast food and an amazing Greek grill. Bring ear plugs as the lite train is directly behind the property. Thank goodness this facility was inexpensive. Probably won’t stay again.

Room is fine, good enough for a short stay but there is a distinct smell atleast in the basement which was hard to tolerate. Staff is very nice though!

Overall experience staying at this hotel was 1/10. The one point being the wonderful and helpful staff. But other than the kind staff the place was not well maintained. There was disgusting bugs in the washroom and did not even provide face cloths. The carpet was super old and run down and the walls/roof had gross stains and cracks/holes. The shower pressure was so painful and did not make my shower enjoyable. First experience was unfortunate due to the fact that there was an unconscious person lying in the parking spot. Also when we first walked in to the room with our food and beverages there was no microwave or fridge to put it into even though the pictures online had them. As well as when we first got there it was super noisy and we could not open the blinds the whole stay because you were able to hear everyone in the parking lot talking. Another issue was the top of the lamp completely fell off and the bathroom light was a danger for those with epilepsy due to the fact that it was flickering constantly. Overall not worth the money i spent. It was decent walking distance from the stampede which was a plus.

This hotel was a low point in my travel history. The room was decorated in a very dated fashion and needed a refresh. It featured "quirky" details such as very wonky power switches and a stiff, squeaky door. The worst aspects, though, were the portable air conditioner and the bed. Although we were warned about the portable air conditioner before arrival, nothing could have prepared us for the noise it made. It was too loud to use during the day, let alone at night. Not that we would have needed to, since the air conditioner was "installed" in the window using corflute and duct tape. Not only was it not a flush fit, so freezing air came into the room through the gaps, but on a particularly windy night, there was a loud intermittent "whistling" (more like the sound an elephant makes) caused by the wind getting trapped in the gap. The bed was extremely squeaky, which, when I reported it to the front desk, was told: "This is the first I'm hearing this." I asked them to look at the bed while we were out, which I'm confident they didn't, since it was just as squeaky that night. I played a recording of this to the general manager the following morning, explaining how that and the noise in the window had kept me awake all night, and her response was, "You seem like you're expecting some kind of outcome." Her suggested outcome was a $25 CAD Amazon card. Genuinely the worst stay in any hotel I've visited anywhere in the world, including developing countries.

The property was clean stuff was friendly.
