There were not many options available when we booked, so we took this one with some type of bunk-beds in a shared bedroom. Not our style, but we knew that before. Good pizza in the evening, though! Not much around the hotel, so it's just for a short stay.

Not bad for what it was. Saw a lot of reviews that said the beds were super comfortable and soft but I felt like they weren’t the best. The rooms can get very hot overnight. If you plan to shower, make sure you get in before others because if not the bathrooms get a little gross. Besides that everything was clean. Good full use kitchen upstairs.

First time in a hostel. Was a little scared, but the reviews and pictures looked promising and I took a risk. I'm glad I did. Everything was so clean, I was thoroughly impressed. Fresh bed sheets and towels everyday. Lockers that you can lock, fully stocked kitchen, and pleasant guests. Didn't feel sketch or unsafe. Not sure if all hostels are like this, but I had a good experience here. If you're on the fence, it's definitely worth it. It's a cool experience. My only grip is, the dorms are too hot at night. Especially if you're on the top bunk.

By far the nicest hostel I have stayed in. Very modern with great amenities. Would recommend.

Great stay. Quiet and peaceful. Lots of parking. Breakfast was good and staff was pleasant and helpful.

Dans l'ensemble tout était bien. Par contre la cuisine est un peu chaotique en soirée quand tous les résidents cuisines. Nous sommes quand parvenu à trouver un endroit disponible pour cuisiner et s'asseoir. Les chambres sont bien insonorisée.

This was the best and cleanest hostel I have ever stayed at. We got in late and were too tired to make dinner, so we were very excited that they had a Pizzeria there! The next night we used the shared kitchen which is also the best shared hostel kitchen I have ever used.

The Fox Hostel is a little off the beaten path, but for a hostel, it’s so nice!! It was well organized, had a great kitchen, and the beds were spacious even for two people. The only thing that was a little tricky was storage for your bags. Make sure you stake your claim early or you’ll be out of luck! But there’s also space on your bed to store things, so not too big of a deal. Overall, a great experience!!

Amazing place for a one night stay. Quiet, clean, excellent amenities and kitchen. And the best part is that all shoes, jackets are kept out of hallways and rooms and there are lockers to store bags outside of rooms, keeping areas clean and uncluttered. Excellent kitchen for self-sufficient travellers.

I absolutely loved my stay at Fox Hostel. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful, creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Everything was clean and well cared for, and the beds were super comfortable - exactly what you need after a full day of exploring. The kitchen was amazing and fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals and connect with other travelers. I also met some truly wonderful people during my stay, which made the experience even more special. One of the most magical parts of my time here was the Northern Lights. Just a short walk behind the hostel in the evening, I had the most incredible aurora experience - it truly felt surreal. If the skies are clear and the conditions align, this is such a beautiful and accessible spot to witness them. I would highly recommend Fox Hostel to anyone traveling in the Vík area. It’s more than just a place to stay...it’s an experience. I would absolutely come back!! ✨

The rooms were clean and cozy. Very comfortable beds, and the way the bunks are designed it feels like you’re in your own private pod! Unfortunately, I did not catch the name of the owner, but he gave our group a warm welcome, telling stories of the property’s history and giving recommendations of things to do in the area. The kitchen was large with multiple cooking stations and plenty of seating (also very clean and up to date with all the necessary appliances, pots, pans, dishes etc.). Bathrooms were clean and modern. The whole property was gorgeous, very new building, peaceful, it was a truly restful atmosphere. The view from our window was beautiful and we saw northern lights from the property. About 30-40 min it es outside Vik it was a good midpoint spot for seeing more of the southwest and not go too far from Reykjavík. Would absolutely stay there again next time we’re in Iceland. One of the best hostels I have ever stayed in!

Charming, fun and safe

Very nice staff, the facilities are excellent, the kitchen is very complete. The bed is also very comfortable. Everything in there is made to make you feel comfortable. 10/10
