We arrived on time for our check in, and were greeted by a very polite gentleman, it turned out he was from our own hometown, so a converstion soon took over, he carried my bag up and I carried my sisters. The rooms them selves were fine, my sisters was a double, so slightly larger than mine just being a single. there were a few little 'hotel' scrapes, obviously nothing can be kept brand new, but the important thing, it was clean. we didn't eat in the hotel, and was told that if it is busy, food, the bar, and entertainment is supplied, we were off season being the beginning of June. For the money, I can only say it was an absolute bargain, we went by train, so no need of the parking, but it appeared there was parking for at least 7 cars off road. I will definitely go there again should a break away calls. Grand Stay!

It was great value for our one night stay. If you’re looking for a location near the beach, train station and the bus stop to Ryde or Ventnor then it’s great. The rooms were small but the bed was comfy and we had tea and coffee provided in the room as well. Check-in and check out were really straightforward and everyone very friendly. Many thanks.

The staff were really lovely, easy check in and easy check out. But, the bathroom had toothpaste marks all over the sink, glass shelf and mirror. The temperature of the shower was either really hot or really cold, you couldn’t change it manually. The hair dryer in the room didn’t work at all. The big bathroom light didn’t work, only a small one above the mirror when you used the shower you could hardly see what you were doing.

Ideally located near the beach, perfect location for a nice getaway

I left my rain jacket behind and the owner got in touch with me and he agreed to meet me next morning at Gunwharf Portsmouth because he happened to be travelling over, couldn't thank him enough

It's a budget hotel so don't expect any Bella and whistles. Room is compact but comfortable enough. Shower is not great very low pressure. If your just after a bed for the night it does the job.

No food when it was posted as available. Shower inconsistent heat and hairdryer kept cutting out.

Worst, the owner very rude . They're overcharged me extra £100. Very dusty

We had to walk up 4 flights of stairs to get to the room my husband has COPD so we couldnt go back out for food as he knew he couldnt manage those stairs again - we were offered a different room lower down the building if we wanted to pay the extra bedside lamp was falling off the wall it smelled really musty the bed linen was white so could see it was clean but overall I wish I had booked somewhere else - overall the building needs updating ripped carpets need replacing etc

the hotel was deserted, no staff, the bar was shut, no entertainment, no breakfast,no evening meal if I wanted to book one,so all in all new year ruined. the phoned me and said the wanted to check my bank details because they were giving me a small refund but then took the full amount and no refund. if this is how they run an hotel and treat there guests then beware and avoid

When I arrived at this hotel I thought I had picked a winner, but when I went inside it all changed, there was nobody on the desk. After wandering about for half an hour or so still unable to find anybody I found the phone number and gave it a call. The lady that answered seemed a bit put out that I rang her but finally agreed to come and book me in. After a wait of about twenty minutes, she arrived and then it really started to go downhill. First no breakfast "not enough people" must then no bar, "not enough people" Then no evening meals why you quest it " not enough people" When I found my room I was pleasantly surprised, it was clean and tidy nice, apart from the shower door naming off and the water at a very fast drizzle. All in all, not one of my better picks

For the price I paid for the night, I was not upset with the hotel. Yes, the decor could do with a little work, but my room was clean and the bed was comfortable enough.

Fairly close to bus stop, not too far from beach. View from the room was okay.

The manager needs to learn some people skills, instead of saying everything is the customers fsult

Arrogant staff, not helpful, couldn't make any decision by himself, he was so stressed out, Staff has no idea about our pre-booked stay, they didn't have Double rooms and we been allowed to buy from expedia website, left us in the situation where i have to pay more then double price to stay in different hotel

Service was poor. Staff difficult to find and there was no record of my booking. I was asked to leave after 1st night with promise of an alternative room in manager's house without breakfast! This i of course declined. At breakfast thete was also no record of my booking and no soap or towel in bedroom. Very poor service. I recommend this hotel to nobody.
