Very friendly and helpful staff make the Gem a good place to stay. The twin room was clean and pleasantly furnished, but when the weather is hot, as it was last weekend, the room gets very hot. The fan provided helped, but only one small window can be opened in the room and similar in the en-suite bathroom, so little air movement. A portable air conditioner would be a possible solution. The road outside the room is also busy from quite early on a Sunday morning, so even if more windows opened, you wouldn’t want to leave them open all night unless you want an early wake up call from the traffic. Shame about the heat as other than that it was a pleasant place to stay and there is an excellent Mediterranean (Turkish) restaurant just down the road if you fancy something a little more exotic to eat.

Very attentive staff, well mannered and knowledgeable…… the Owner particularly helpful and generous. Location excellent for Stansted Airport and many local amenities.

The Gem is a pleasant place to stay but has a few drawbacks. The is no on site parking which is unfortunate, they don't have aircon but the main problem for me was when I tried to checkout at 7.20am there was no receptionist and I couldn't access the main building to drop off my keys. They should have a box outside for guests to drop their keys when they wish to leave early.

Nice room, Ive stayed in most of these rooms over the past 10 yeara and was last here in 2024. Breakfast was just average and no where near as good as it used to be when it was called The Linden. Had problems checkiing out at 7.30 in the morning as no staff were around so i had to leave my key in the room.. Still nice but not as good as it waa..

Cobwebs in numerous corners, 3 spiders in the room, broken lights, bath and sink didn’t drain

Was in the area on business. Nice, clean, decent sized room and en-suite shower room. Friendly welcoming staff. Only had breakfast in the restaurant so can’t comment on evening food but my full English breakfast was lovely. Only very minor downside is the lack of on site customer parking but I used a local car park across the road which was free overnight and reasonable rates at other times. Would come back again

We recently stayed at the Gem on a Saturday night and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel is stylish, well run and the staff can't do enough to assist you. Everyone was so professional. Also worth noting is that the Full English breakfast is excellent.

Definitely recommend, very helpful and attentive staff . Room was beautiful and breakfast was excellent. Only problem was stake was little raw when asked for medium rae . But overall a wonderful break and well looked after.

We checked in late due to our car breaking down at Stansted airport and needing a place to stay for the night. We were met with very friendly and welcoming staff who upgraded our room straight away and made us feel at home after a very stressful day! Drinks at the bar with a cheese board in the evening was just what we needed, and the breakfast was gorgeous. All in all a very lovely stay at the Gem.

We recently had a great stay at Gem Stansted and would highly recommend it! The hotel has a wonderful, distinct boutique feel—it's immediately charming and comfortable. We were fortunate to have a room with a terrace and a beautiful four-poster bed, which really elevated the experience. What truly made the stay memorable was the staff. They were incredibly friendly and accommodating; honestly, nothing was too much for them. The service was top-notch from check-in to check-out. Breakfast was also very good, providing a perfect start to the day. Overall, our stay was great value for money. We will absolutely be returning!

Staff very attentive, room was lovely with a very comfy bed, dinner and breakfast tasty. All in all we enjoyed our stay here and will definitely return.

I would close a room off the main road next time as very noisy late evening and early morning from traffic

A gorgeous find near Stansted Airport. Short walk to the hotel from Stansted Mountifitchet Station - 10 minutes maximum depending on pace. This place has more of a gastro pub dining with rooms feel to it. Rooms are beautiful. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Food was top notch, amazing Fillet Steak with Blue Cheese Sauce - small menu but all looked lovely. Good draught beers and cocktails looked really good! Options to get to Stansted are taxi if leaving early - around 10 mins and a normal car cost £28.50 for 4 people. Trains run from about 0530 to the airport taking 13 mins and costs £4.60. Didn’t get to have breakfast sadly as left too early but if dinner was anything to judge it by it would have been lovely. Will definitely stay here again.

Un séjours sur mesure. Un accueil chaleureux, un personnel agréable et très professionnel. La carte du restaurant est superbe, pour un français en Angleterre c’était parfait! La pièce de bœuf est tendre et bonne et la cuisson était parfaite. Les St jacques sont incroyables ! Je recommande! L’hôtel a du cachet, la literie est très confortable, j’ai fait une nuit réparatrice, et j’ai adoré le chic à l’anglaise. Il y a une superbe ambiance dans ce lieu, j’ai trouvé ma pépite pour mes passages par Stansted!
