The airport is in Ranomeeto district, South Konawe Regency, outside Kendari city. Allow around half an hour or more by road to the city centre.
It was previously known as Wolter Monginsidi Airport. It is also written as Haluoleo Airport, and its IATA code is KDI.
Airlines include Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, Batik Air, Citilink, Super Air Jet, Wings Air and Pelita Air.
The main routes connect Kendari with Jakarta and Makassar. Check current schedules for other domestic destinations.

Halu Oleo Airport, also written Haluoleo and coded KDI, is the main airport for Kendari, the capital of Southeast Sulawesi province in Indonesia. It was once known as Wolter Monginsidi Airport, a name that still survives in the street address.
Most visitors pass through on their way to Kendari city, the islands of Southeast Sulawesi or connecting flights across Indonesia.
The airport is not in Kendari itself. It sits in Ranomeeto district, South Konawe Regency, south-west of the city, so plan on a drive of around half an hour or more to reach central Kendari.
A two-storey terminal serves both arrivals and departures, with jet bridges for boarding. Facilities include an executive lounge, food and drink outlets, retail shops, baggage wrapping, prayer rooms and a tourist information point.
Several Indonesian airlines fly from KDI, including Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, Batik Air, Citilink, Super Air Jet, Wings Air and Pelita Air. The key routes link Kendari with Jakarta and Makassar, which act as connecting points for the rest of the country.
Kendari wraps around a sheltered bay, and its waterfront is a pleasant place for an evening walk. From the city, boats and flights reach the islands of Southeast Sulawesi, including the diving waters further south.
Because the airport is some distance outside the city, give yourself enough time for the road trip, especially during morning and evening traffic. If you are connecting in Jakarta or Makassar, leave a comfortable buffer between flights. Travellers heading on by sea can use the DAMRI bus, which continues from the city to Kendari's port.
