The climate in Siargao is tropical year-round with an average temperature of 29-35 degrees Celsius. Siargao or Philippines has only two seasons which is wet and dry seasons where rainfall can be heavy during the wet or monsoon season and humidity during the hotter months can be high. The best time to visit Siargao would be between December to February when the weather is warmer with occasional showers. During this season, the sun shines bright resulting clear skies with the winds blow gently suitable for outdoor activities. The off-peak season is between July to September where the climate during that season is unpredictable and typhoons can sometimes occur anytime. 1. Bacolod – Silay Airport

It is the main airport that serves the general area of the Bacolod Metropolitan Area. It is just 15 kilometres northeast of Bacolod city. Since it is an international airport, Bacolod – Silay Airport is the busiest airport serving the Negros Island area. The airlines that operate in this airport is Cebu Pacific and Philippines Airlines, with the later provide an international route to Seoul, South Korea as its seasonal flights. Bacolod – Silay Airport has many interesting shops and eateries within the airport so you can shop or dine in while waiting for the plane to arrive or depart. To go in and out of the airport is easy because there are many types of transportation available in Bacolod – Silay Airport for the visitors.


2. Sayak Airport

Sayak Airport is also known as Siargao Airport. This airport is serving the general area of Siargao Island, located in the province of Surigao del Norte in the Philippines. The airport is located in Barangay Sayak in the municipality of Del Carmen, where the airport derives its name from. There are direct flights to Siargao Island from Cebu four times a week on Cebu Pacific. Flight time is approximately 45 minutes depends on your destination. To go in and out of the airport is easy because there are many types of transportation available in Sayak Airport for the visitors.

Siargao’s climate is under the hot sun for most of the time. Usually, it will be warm and sunny throughout the years with little rains except for typhoon season which the weather can be unpredictable with heavy rains and thunderstorm. The average maximum temperature in Siargao is around 27 and 33 degree Celsius while the average minimum is about 20 and 24 degree Celsius. While around December to February will be the peak of seasons because it will be the warm and pleasant season of the year. 1. Cloud 9 Boardwalk and View Deck - Cloud 9 is one of the famous surf areas in General Luna, but if you are not that into balancing yourself on a surfboard, you can relax and chill strolling down the iconic long boardwalk. You can also watch the seasoned surfers surf expertly from the three-story view deck at the end of the sidewalk. You can also wait for the sunrise here as well as savor the moment as you watch the beautiful spectacle that is sunset.


2. Magpupungko Rock Pools - Another well-known tourist destination on the island of Siargao is the Magpupungko Rock Pools, which affords revelers chance to take a dip in the crystal-clear waters when you get there at the right time. The rock pools only appear at certain times, mainly when the tide is low. Visitors are always advised to check the tide schedule as it changes daily. The Tock Pools is about 45-minute drive from General Luna. You can join a group tour or rent a motorcycle and drive to the Rock Pools. Entrance to the Rock Pools will cost 50 pesos per person while parking fee is around 20 pesos per vehicle.


3. Sugba Lagoon - Another popular attraction on the island is Sugba Lagoon. It is located at the northwestern portion of the island. The jumping-off point is the town of Del Carmen, which is about a two-hour drive from General Luna. There are many ways you can explore the lagoon — by renting canoes, bamboo rafts, and paddle boards and by snorkeling. There’s a two-layer docking area or rest area where you can also rent a table for 50 pesos. One of the highlights here is jumping off the diving platform into the clear turquoise waters. Travelers can also join a group tour. Tour operators and some resorts offer this tour. The rate is around 2000 pesos per person inclusive of lunch, transportation, and entrance. For those interested in heading there on their own can hire a van. From there, travelers will be required to register at the local port authority and charter a boat. The average boat rate is 1600 pesos for six people. The travel time from the port to the lagoon is approximately one hour.
