Radisson Barra Rio De Janeiro

The reception staff were outstanding and so very helpful. The location is perfect, as access to the beach, downtown and shopping malls is super easy. Barra de Tijuca is a great location! Rooms need to be updated

I pulled up in a taxi and asked at the front desk for change and there was none I was told. I then waited to check in for 30 minutes and 3 other guests interrupted a staff member and she assisted them before addressing me. I then finally got my turn to check in and no enthusiasm or mention about the New Year’s festivities so I brought it up. I was told it was sold out but that I could see fireworks from the rooftop on floor 15. Not as described on the website which referenced a beach experience. There is black mold around the sink faucet. There was no obvious place for the ice bucket nor did I see where I might get ice. I tried to call for assistance but no number works. The soup that I ordered tasted like paste flavored with lemon with shrimp added. The salad was not a salad that should be on the menu it had cheap lettuce I eburg vs spring mix or arugula and sliced tomatoes with drops of a dressing that was not something I could select. In fact it said pick up to 10 options and you could not pick one. The soup was given back due to its mashed potato consistency and basic lemon only flavor and the salad was also returned. Again I had to go to the front desk because the phone doesn’t allow a call to go through from your room. When I attempted to place my room service order it did not go through because it said no guest under my name was in room 641. There was no manager on site for a busy holiday event?? I am paying $500 the holiday rate for 1 night and want discount!!!

As usual, Radisson is unpretentious which makes one feel at home. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are excellent. Only negative comment is that the swimming pool is too shallow for swimming. Shuttle to the beach, metro and mall is an excellent facility.

Major WiFi problem - could not connect for over a day and never was fully connected. Had to change rooms because the t v did not work for streaming.

The hotel is rated as 4-star but our room was definitely not up to that standard. Overall we enjoyed our stay here, walking distance to Barra Beach (about 10 minutes). The included breakfast buffet was excellent.

Yes on both counts. There could have been hard or soft boiled eggs for breakfast. There was a waiter in the evenings by the name of Phillipe who was very lovely.

Rooms were a mess. Cob webs, mold, broken tv, open electrical boxes, hard bed, lack of changing/ cleaning sheets, clack of clothing storage space, “pool” 2.5 feet deep. Pool only open til 7 pm, broken chair, Internet issues, scuffed/ dirty walls

First time at this Hotel. The staff all provided great service. Lucineide cleaned the room and did a great job. I was a little disappointed by the food, the Club Sandwich I had was not great, chicken was tough and fries were soggy. Breakfast had a few dishes that weren’t great, scrambled eggs were sloppy and some of the bread was stale. Had a pizza and pasta both were good. Air conditioning was an issue, doesn’t matter what you set thermostat to cold air will keep pumping, 15c and lowering. I was told that the system doesn’t actually warm just cools, so if your room is too cold just turn it off. When it is cold outside there is no way to heat the room.

Wi-Fi week and TV need upgrade .

Great place to stay. The only drawback is it little too far from most visitor spots

Excellent service, staff was very responsive & courteous. Dinning option also great if you choose to have a lazy day during your Rio trip & just order in room service. Local transportation shuttle is also offered & a table with tour recommendations & sign up. Although a bit far from the main Rio things like Copacabana & such, I would prefer staying here because of the comfort & “affordable luxury” stay.

This hotel is amazing. We started there for 3 nights and visited many places in Rio such as Cristo Redentor and Pão de Açúcar. The hotel helped us to get a taxi who helped us to go around Rio, and visited all the tourist places. The breakfast at the hotel was amazing! Everything that you could imagine, including, fresh juices, fruits, cakes, breads, eggs, vaccines, yogurt and many more. I will definitely stay here again!!

Every morning, there was a horrible sweage smell on the bathroom and room. The bad smell lasts for hours
