Picked the property because of the picture of the room. It did not disappoint. The room was beautiful, comfortable yet rustic and tasteful. The restaurant served very good food although breakfast was just a brunch starting at 10. Definitely would stay again

Lane’s is conveniently located close to the centre of Liverpool within short walking distance to shops and local attractions such as the Trestle Trail and Hell’s Bay Brewing Company and a short drive away from Cosby’s and beautiful beaches. Though a bit dated, the room was clean, comfortable and reflected a historic charm. The grounds offer a park like feel with a chance to watch seals chasing fish on the river. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. The restaurant didn’t disappoint with a cozy atmosphere, traditional menu and selection of local wines and beers. It was a great choice for a mini weekend escape.

Knowing before you book is key. I am sure that not all rooms are the same at this establishment but the one we ended up in (104) definitely did NOT look like the picture. Our king bed had no headboard and was an ultra thick memory foam that made climbing in and out challenging at best. If there are mobility issues I would say impossible. The only window is directly on the main walkway and overlooks the parking lot. Privacy can only be achieved by keeping the curtains drawn (no shears either so full dark) The front desk closes at 8pm which is frustrating as to obtain ice you need to ask them to get it for you (not sure where he fetches it from but he disappears for quite a while). The bed linens were old and pilled and bathroom could only be called cleanish. There is also a large pipe that runs through the room near the ceiling which is accentuated by the darker painted ceiling.. I expected older but this felt more like an afterthought room and while it was more economical at just under $200 a night it felt over-priced for what we got. Was it bad enough that we had to look for other accommodations? No. Would we go back? Also, no.

Beautiful setting beside bridge with nice water view. Check in went smoothly. Rooms clean but dated. Could use some touch ups. Restaurant meal was good and our server was fun. Short walk across in town gave access to other restaurants and shops.

The room was very dingy, areas haven’t been cleaned, for example, behind the chairs. The toilet seat was wobbly and the shower mat was very old and grimy. The water pressure and temperature were great though.

This place needs some updates. The area is beautiful with a space outside. The rooms are old and tired but the bed was comfortable enough. I feel like they don't have staff to clean rooms if you stay more than 1 day. I had to track down people for fresh towels for day 2. The website needs updates it doesn't have breakfast during the week. There is a lovely place across the bridge though. They let us use the area for family games after they closed for the evening that was awesome. We also had dinner there it was fantastic and the staff were lovely when we seen them. There is nobody at desk til 11am and not sure how to contact people if you needed.

Location was convenient, Wi-fi and parking good. Property is dated but bed comfortable and clean. Mini fridge and microwave in the room but no kleenex and no plug in bathroom sink. Restaurant on site but we did not use. All in all acceptable but certainly not the Ritz!

They definately need to upgrade the cleaning. The carpet as soon as you walk in is filthy and stays that way throughout. The shower would not drain. When we checked in we were not told where our room was and had to wander around until we found it. It is a shame because the setting was nice and it could be a lovely old hotel.

Very convenient location and nice enough views and building… However, furniture felt more old than rustic… TV didn’t work, and had to pester The front desk for a receipt. Fair, but nothing to write home about.

This is an older property, that could use some updating. Having said that, the room was spacious and clean enough. We enjoyed the restaurant onsite.
