More about hotels in China
Choose a city for your China hotel search
China's hotel choices are best approached through the cities on your route. Beijing and Shanghai offer two different starting points: historic palace and old-city sightseeing in Beijing, or a Shanghai visit shaped by the Huangpu River and the Bund. Select the destinations first, then arrange a stay for each part of the journey.
Beijing or Shanghai?
Beijing accommodation suits an itinerary centred on the capital's heritage. The Forbidden City, Jingshan and the Bell and Drum Towers form part of the old city's north-south Central Axis. A stay chosen around your main sightseeing area can make those city days the focus of the visit.
Shanghai hotels offer a different urban setting. The Bund brings historic architecture to the western bank of the Huangpu River, with the riverfront itself a major reason to explore central Shanghai. A hotel elsewhere in the municipality may serve a different itinerary from a stay centred on that waterfront.
Arrange separate stays for a longer route
A holiday from the Philippines can include more than one Chinese city, but each overnight stop deserves its own search. Use the city and local destination pages to narrow down the address rather than comparing all properties in China as one market.
For prices, enter the dates and guests for the specific city. Compare the room arrangement, meals and cancellation terms together. The lowest displayed amount on a country-wide list is not a reliable estimate for a different city, room or travel period.
