Great Western Hotel

I very much enjoyed my two nights in the hotel. Although a little shabby, my room was comfortable and I enjoyed my view. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Room was quite clean a few hairs in the bath and used soaps still present. Room was clean itself. Good bar spent NYE in there good atmosphere

Hotel was close to the beach but hotel it’s self needs some work the room smelt and so did the the hall ways.

Staff were super friendly and helpful. Great size room with lovely comfortable bed. Would definitely recommend

The hotel is one of the few who when not full, charge for a late checkout. Shame as everything else was good

Helpful and pleasant staff. Spacious room, good bathroom and amenities, location on seafront. Property is quite "tired" though.

Wonderful views from the restaurant. Breakfast was good. All staff were excellent, friendly and helpful- a great asset to the hotel. Some of the public areas were very tired looking, especially the bedroom corridors. The exterior would also benefit from a coat of paint. However, we did enjoy our stay.

Staff, every single one of them polite, couldnt do enough to help. All room clean, a bit dated but that was the only negative. Except window in room was broke but tild reception and they were in it. Food great, breakfast included every breakfast you could imagine frim full English, salmon, pancakes whatever you wanted just ask. Really really enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back. Booked parking prior to stay and our name was on the wall ready and waiting for our arrival.

I arrived at The Great Western for 5 nights B&B and my pre booked parking space was ready when I pulled into the car park. The lady on reception was welcoming and talked me through the booking in process. My room was on the second floor, and there is a lift or stairs to get there. Definitely easier in the lift if you have bags. I was very impressed with my double room that overlooked the front car park and main road. It was very spacious and clean. Yes, it’s a little tired looking in places but to be honest it’s an old building and 3* so I was very happy with the room. It had everything I needed for my stay. Plenty of storage for everything I brought, a good double bed, decent sized tv and a brilliant shower. Hot water every time I needed a shower, no matter what time of day and really good pressure. I was expecting a noisy night overlooking the front of the hotel but it was pretty quiet and I had lots of undisturbed sleep. Breakfast was well worth adding on to the stay and the food was good quality with plenty to choose from. Brilliant views as well during breakfast overlooking the beach. Staff at The Great Western were lovely and friendly, always greeting you with a smile, and nothing was too much trouble. A nice touch was the Cornish biscuits with the complimentary tea and coffee in the room; couldn’t get enough of them. I had a brilliant stay at The Great Western, it was ideally situated in Newquay and an added bonus is the bar and restaurant attached to it. Brilliant.

Great staff, great food and service.

Location is fantastic. Room was very dated. Very old carpet. Felt kinda gross. Very small room. Beds snaller than a sta dard twin and not very comfortable. Our room had an unpleasant view. But staff were nice and location was great. Paid $150 per night. We were only in the room to sleep. But it was probably one of the worst rooms ive ever stayed in.

Fade charm, must have a great place in the past. Personal was not too helpful. Breakfast was not nice. In total below expectations.
