What a lovely hotel to stay at. The location is amazing. With beautiful views of the sea/beach. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of dining options if you didn’t fancy eating at the restaurant on site (but the menu was really good). Will definitely be back soon

We had a room facing the road, I expected a lot of noise late at night but was suprise how quiet it was. The room was a nice size with comfortable beds and was well furnished, the bathroom was also in good order and modern. Breakfast had plenty of choice, only I didn't like the bacon (personal preference) - it was baked and not fried I believe. Location was excellent with a lovely elevated view overlooking the sea/beach from the outside area of the bar/restaurant.

We stayed in one of the newly refurbished rooms, it was very well kept and comfortable, we were only there for one night, but would stay again.
One thing is lack of parking, need to pre book as there are limited spaces, but the train station is less than a 2 min walk away, so for us it wasn’t a problem as we parked there instead.

Great location and views .
Spacious room. (3 adults) short stay so didn’t explore more than the town centre and beach.
Dated hotel but clean. Staff helpful.
Parking wasn’t available but nearby paid/free (after 4pm) nearby.

We got a king sized bed and the room and bathroom were spacious. The fan provided was not great given the hot weather and the window was jammed so only one could be opened so room got stuffy unless the window was left open at all times. The windowsills were filthy, clearly had not been cleaned in a long time. The corridor carpets were also in bad condition with stains all over. Absolutely no A/C anywhere despite the hot temps.
We got seafront so the view outside the hotel was nice. We opted out of the breakfast option due to the price and there e were much cheaper alternatives close by. The staff at reception were nice.
The hotel location was great as the beach was right next to it and grocery stores were close by so very convenient location. Overall, I would only recommend the hotel for the great location, not for the amenities provided.

We had a lovely short stay at the Great Western, the hotel is a little dated but apparently is currently undergoing a refurbishment
The staff were pleasant and polite
The bar area was nice and the view from the beer garden is lovely, overlooking the beach
The bedroom was a good size, the bathroom was ok and both were spotless
The beds were very comfy
The bedrooms could do with more plug sockets as there were only 2 and we had to unplug things and swap them around
In saying that we would stay there again

Prime location with sea views from the restaurant/pub. Staff were friendly and always smiling. Carpets are extremely tired and somewhat dirty and dusty, they need replacement or a big carpet wash! No air con and no fridge in both rooms we had booked. With the heat you need air con. There was a fan supplied which helped.
Breakfast was pretty good with limited continental items but you can also order a meal from a set menu. Staff were nice.

The great western is updating rooms . We got a family room that was newly renovated and it was beautifully done, we had a sea view and street view. There was a misunderstanding on my booking but staff were very helpful and sorted it all out. The hotel has limited parking but you have the option to prebook a space. We struggled with our Irish phone to book parking at the train station as it wouldn't download the app. The breakfast menu had plenty of choice. We were only passing through so did not spend anytime in Newquay.

The hotel occupies a grand position looking out across the bay. However 75% of the hotel is old and well past its sell by date.
On arrival I was allocated a very tired room with grubby carpet and facilities accompanied by the smell of damp. I was moved to a very well equipped room in the refurbished wing. However this was in the oof and very hot. No aircon and couldn’t open the window as road was so busy with Saturday night revellers and traffic.
The best thing was my allocated parking space which saved time looking for safe parking in the town.
Breakfast was poor continental choice and so slow with the cooked order I had to leave or I would have missed checkout. Coffee was dated filter coffe and all just felt a bit cheap for the £120 I paid for one night.
Much nicer areas in Cornwall to stay and much better value hotels.

Tolle Lage, zentral und Meerblick je nach Zimmer, Parkplatz am Hotel nach vorheriger Buchung möglich, saubere Zimmer und gute Betten,. Wir hatten 2 Zimmer im noch nicht renovierten Bereich, in einem roch es leider extrem ( möglicherweise Schimmel / zumindest nicht sichtbar ) . Personal hilfreich und nett. Gute Gastronomie im Haus, manchmal Live Musik, trotzdem ruhiger Schlaf möglich, da nach 23.00 Ruhe.

I found the room very poor stains on carpet windows were filthy radiator was rusty the windows were nearly impossible to open the shower had hardly any pressure shower curtain just about hanging on a rusted pole all in all what we paid I was very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend to anyone 😖😖😖😖

The rooms could do with some updating but they were clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The hotel was relaxing and welcoming. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were very nice. The hotel was very close to the train station and beaches. The hotel could benefit from the outside windows cleaning as they were full of bird poo and hard to see through . All in all a good comfortable stay.
