Great place to stay and very friendly staff

What a lovely hotel to stay at. The location is amazing. With beautiful views of the sea/beach. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of dining options if you didn’t fancy eating at the restaurant on site (but the menu was really good). Will definitely be back soon

Relaxed environment, a little old now. Very few parking spaces but the overflow car park nearby felt safe enough. Bar excellent, food nice. Very relaxing time

The staff was very helpful and accommodating. They retained our clothing when we forgot it in the room and held it until we could return. Very kind!

The great western is updating rooms . We got a family room that was newly renovated and it was beautifully done, we had a sea view and street view. There was a misunderstanding on my booking but staff were very helpful and sorted it all out. The hotel has limited parking but you have the option to prebook a space. We struggled with our Irish phone to book parking at the train station as it wouldn't download the app. The breakfast menu had plenty of choice. We were only passing through so did not spend anytime in Newquay.

The hotel occupies a grand position looking out across the bay. However 75% of the hotel is old and well past its sell by date. On arrival I was allocated a very tired room with grubby carpet and facilities accompanied by the smell of damp. I was moved to a very well equipped room in the refurbished wing. However this was in the oof and very hot. No aircon and couldn’t open the window as road was so busy with Saturday night revellers and traffic. The best thing was my allocated parking space which saved time looking for safe parking in the town. Breakfast was poor continental choice and so slow with the cooked order I had to leave or I would have missed checkout. Coffee was dated filter coffe and all just felt a bit cheap for the £120 I paid for one night. Much nicer areas in Cornwall to stay and much better value hotels.

I found the room very poor stains on carpet windows were filthy radiator was rusty the windows were nearly impossible to open the shower had hardly any pressure shower curtain just about hanging on a rusted pole all in all what we paid I was very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend to anyone 😖😖😖😖

The rooms could do with some updating but they were clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The hotel was relaxing and welcoming. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were very nice. The hotel was very close to the train station and beaches. The hotel could benefit from the outside windows cleaning as they were full of bird poo and hard to see through . All in all a good comfortable stay.

We had a room facing the road, I expected a lot of noise late at night but was suprise how quiet it was. The room was a nice size with comfortable beds and was well furnished, the bathroom was also in good order and modern. Breakfast had plenty of choice, only I didn't like the bacon (personal preference) - it was baked and not fried I believe. Location was excellent with a lovely elevated view overlooking the sea/beach from the outside area of the bar/restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic from entry to leaving, staff really helpful, food fantastic, views magnificent, all round brilliant

The part that has been up dated was great The old part is due to be updated but not in a very good state at the Monent

Staff realy good on resepsion and bar staff where realy helpful cleaners where realy good to enjoyed stay very much and right by sea exalent

Room was lovely, staff very helpful, hotel is abit dated and the toilets downstairs were not great. Overall very good.

Defo in need of refurb. But nice location

I spent 3 nights for work, the location is amazing, the hotel is old but in a good condition and clean The staff were terrible, the lady who did the check in was not bad, but others were not friendly at all when I go in or out saying hi they either do not answer back or just a cold hi in return The lady who did the check out was very bad ,I came and said : good morning I want to check out,, she didn’t look at my face, didn’t say good morning, jut : room number? Said:103 , she( didn’t look at me at all): ok , I was expecting: thank you, I hope you had a good time with us !!!! but no, nothing at al.

Had a newly refurbished room and took my dog. Very easy check in. We booked ahead for parking so parked right outside the hotel. Lovely goody bag for dog with toy and treats. Room adequate size. Shower a bit small and only one bath towel for 2 people!! But soon rectified. Lovely complimentary toiletries and tea tray with fresh water provided. All in all a good stay. Lovely views of beach

Staff were very helpful, especially when my husband had a fall in the room. the manager came to the room and stayed until ambulance was called. The first room booked was a standard room via Hotels.com. Upon arrival, found room was unacceptable...very small room with standard double bed, view of building next door. Negotiated better room after paying more.
