The Kings Arms

Great place to stay in heart of Christchurch, overlooking the cathedral. The renovations are beautiful, giving a relaxing, arty vibe in which to relax, with a high standard of decor. Staff are fantastic, very friendly whilst professional, and made all guests feel really welcome. Great welcome on arrival, friendly, pleasant and helpful. All seemed to enjoy working there! It could do with some sofas/easy chairs for guests to relax in apart from the bar, ‘cafe’, or restaurant areas, but this didn’t spoil our stay as no one hurried us out of either. Maybe some low coffee tables in place of some of the cafe tables? Will definitely be staying again, such fantastic service from all staff in a lovely, welcoming environment.

The room was nice. Not big but as I expected. The dinner we had in the pub restaurant was very good. Chef cooked us a meal from the lunch menu as we didn’t want a formal dinner menu. The cooked breakfast was, however, awful. (I suspect not the same chef). Ordered Eggs Benedict. The sauce was runny, almost watery and the ham seemed like cheap supermarket processes sliced ham. Awful, especially as it wasn’t cheap. Also thought that for breakfast there should be free coffee refills (have to pay extra for coffee and orange juice although these are apparently included in the Continental breakfast). Would suggest you stick to continental or eat breakfast out. Staff pleasant and generally enjoyed stay. The price was reasonable and the standard was as expected in the price range and in a pub like hotel.

Very nice room as were the bar and restaurant. Parking wasn't a problem and located within easy walking distance of the town.

Great stay lovely rooms recently done up and clean with great bed and shower. They even have fresh milk for tea. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. Definitely worth a visit.

The staff are just lovely......helpful and kind. The hotel is very clean, room spotless and spacious. My bathroom had natural light and smelled lovely. The restaurant and bar are beautifully decorated with pretty artwork and gorgeous wallpaper.

I must say that from checking in to checking out this hotel was one of the best places I’ve stayed in over the last few years. Staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble

The staff are great, nothing is too much trouble. The hotel itself is very well maintained and a comfortable environment to be in.

Lovely place, room was incredible and the food was amazing. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The staff were wonderful. I arrived early and asked if I could leave my car in the car park until later that day. They allowed me into my room even though I was early. The building is beautiful and in a perfect location to see the castle, the priory and the town. My room was a little small and the mattress was very soft. The bath was the deepest I have seen in a hotel room. The coffee machine in the room and biscuits was a nice touch. And an in room fridge with cold bottled water was very welcome.

My stay was great, hotel really nice, staff very friendly and helpful. Room very clean, bed very comfortable, breakfast very tasty and lots of choice.

Very nice premises and staff

We had an absolutely amazing stay and couldn’t recommend it more highly. The staff were incredibly welcoming, and we were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional level of service throughout our stay. We were also given the opportunity to upgrade our room, which was such a thoughtful and generous gesture. Our room was spacious, beautifully presented, and incredibly comfortable, with a real sense of luxury- making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. Breakfast was fantastic- delicious, high-quality, and the perfect way to start the day. A special thank you to Chamane and the rest of the team as well for going above and beyond to help me organise a birthday surprise for my partner. They made the entire experience seamless and memorable, with an impressive range of treats and balloon options to suit any celebration.
