The Kings Arms

This was our third stay at the Kings arms in Christchurch, and another enjoyable experience. The Hotel is ideally located in the town and a short walk from the quay. The staff at check in and the restaurant are always friendly and helpful. The rooms vary in size depending on the type booked, but those we have stayed in have always been clean and well appointed. Nice little touches include a fridge with complimentary bottled water, fresh milk and biscuits. Breakfast is outstanding and there is ample free Hotel parking. We have stayed in other Hotels in Christchurch over the years, but The Kings arms is the nicest all things considered.

All staff are very friendly and always with a smile and a greeting. Excellent breakfast, lots of choice to choose from. From continentalbreakfasts, cereals and choice of cooked breakfasts, all good. Room is clean and tidy. Free WiFi too. Love to go back there again but not ideal for accessibility with wheelchairs, lift is very tiny. I also will feel safe to stay alone, with lots of people milling around Christchuch town.

Great value for money in the heart of the town. Beautifully decorated and well turned out room. Very comfortable bed and great shower. Breakfast was excellent with ample choices of either cooked or continental. Parking was easy across the road from the hotel in a dedicated parking area. Great to walk out and see the sights, minutes from the abbey and quayside. Lots of bars and restaurants close by. The hotel offers you discounts at other local establishments if you choose to eat there. Very much enjoyed the stay!

Exactly the "reset" we needed We’d had a really rough week and just wanted somewhere to go and forget about everything for a bit. This stay was perfect for that. We started with Sunday lunch which was great, and then checked into our room. It was spotlessly clean, tidy, and had a really good bathroom, too. One thing that really stood out was having proper milk in the fridge for our tea and coffee—it’s such a small thing, but so much better than those little UHT pods you usually get! The staff couldn’t have been nicer, either. We were greeted for breakfast by the same lady who’d looked after us at lunch the day before, and she was so warm and welcoming both times. It’s that kind of service that makes a place feel special. Speaking of breakfast, it was excellent and definitely kept us full for the rest of the day. All in all, we had a lovely, relaxing time and it was exactly the "chill" we were looking for. We’re already looking forward to coming back when we need another break!

A warm and welcoming hotel in an excellent location. The decor in the bar and restaurant was stylish and unique and our room was also full of character, spacious and clean. Breakfast was superb! All the staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was ample and free and convenient. I’m already recommending this place to my friends.

Really lovely hotel with friendly staff, immaculate rooms, beautiful soft linens, fresh milk in the fridge and someone who has thought about the little things when designing the room - sockets in the right places, light switches on both side of the bed, long enough lead on the hairdryer, multiple mirrors. Our room was the 'standard, cozy', but did not feel cramped in any way and 'standard' in this case meant 'high standard'! Great location in the centre of Christchurch, easy to walk everwhere.

Location is wonderful, rooms spacious

A lovely hotel in the heart of Christchurch. We had a Classic King room which was clean, with a comfy bed. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast great. Would stay again.

The staff were brilliant. So welcoming, kind and attentive. They made sure we had everything we needed, gave us so information about the local area. The breakfast was delicious. The view out to the park was beautiful especially with a lovely rainbow over the river. The room was very comfortable.

Brilliant stay!

Great place to stay in heart of Christchurch, overlooking the cathedral. The renovations are beautiful, giving a relaxing, arty vibe in which to relax, with a high standard of decor. Staff are fantastic, very friendly whilst professional, and made all guests feel really welcome. Great welcome on arrival, friendly, pleasant and helpful. All seemed to enjoy working there! It could do with some sofas/easy chairs for guests to relax in apart from the bar, ‘cafe’, or restaurant areas, but this didn’t spoil our stay as no one hurried us out of either. Maybe some low coffee tables in place of some of the cafe tables? Will definitely be staying again, such fantastic service from all staff in a lovely, welcoming environment.

The room was nice. Not big but as I expected. The dinner we had in the pub restaurant was very good. Chef cooked us a meal from the lunch menu as we didn’t want a formal dinner menu. The cooked breakfast was, however, awful. (I suspect not the same chef). Ordered Eggs Benedict. The sauce was runny, almost watery and the ham seemed like cheap supermarket processes sliced ham. Awful, especially as it wasn’t cheap. Also thought that for breakfast there should be free coffee refills (have to pay extra for coffee and orange juice although these are apparently included in the Continental breakfast). Would suggest you stick to continental or eat breakfast out. Staff pleasant and generally enjoyed stay. The price was reasonable and the standard was as expected in the price range and in a pub like hotel.

Very nice room as were the bar and restaurant. Parking wasn't a problem and located within easy walking distance of the town.

Wonderful hotel, food was excellent with pleasant bar and restaurant areas. Staff were all really lovely. The room was very clean and spacious. Would definitely recommend.

Great stay lovely rooms recently done up and clean with great bed and shower. They even have fresh milk for tea. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. Definitely worth a visit.
