Hôtel Castex

The only good thing about this hotel is location: walking distance to Louvre and other attractions. I give location 5 stars. Hotel is dilapidated: our room had dirty scuffed walls, peeling paint on the doors, desk and chairs, dirty drapes. Water from the shower runs to the room. Neither heat, nor AC were working. Our room fobs stopped working 4 times. Our neighbor next door got into our room with his key fob. The staff programmed his fob to our room instead of his. We ran out of soap and asked 3 times ( different desk personnel) for the refill. It was never done. Ended up buying our own soap. Breakfast: super basic - eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, bread. No fruits or vegetables. Kitchen staff milling around and not replenishing items that are gone. This hotel does NOT deserve 3 stars. Dingy, dark hallways with motion detector light. It feels like a low level youth hostel, not a mid range hotel. Disappointing experience!

I love staying at Hotel Castex while in Paris. The staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. The hotel and rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Stay was pleasant. Would stay again. A/C was not working at the time.

No air conditioner. No water. Refrigerator was not working. Terrible experience. Would like my money back and I did a pre register. So I paid extra and not worth it.

Emplacement exceptionnel. Chambre petite mais très fonctionnelle. Salle de bain avec douche. Aurait besoin d’un peu beaucoup d’amour.on ne oui eut pas tout avoir pour le otix paye. Déjeuner extra. Personnel du déjeuner très accueillant. En somme, on en a eu pour notre argent…!

Good location and friendly staff

The area is perfect. The hotel was easy to get to and quaint. A lovely stay in a great neighborhood. Would stay here again.

There was a 65euro cost for taxi . We took ourselves to the train station. The breakfast was minimal

El hotel debería mejorar la infraestructura y cuidar los detaches del lobby, cuando llegas no dan buena impresión, la habitación muy pequeña, no podíamos colocar las maletas, además cobraron un tax que no estaba incluido en el acuerdo con Expedia, Algo bueno fue el desayuno.

Perfect quiet location with many cafes around. Easy to get to from the train or airport and convenient for travelling around the city. Staff were always kind. Would definitely stay there again.

The room was small (which is expected) but very equipped. It was in a great location with great staff. Held our bags upon arrival until we could check in.

A great location and most of the staff (not all) are extremely friendly. The hotel is clean and right next to Bastille: a great area for eating/drinking with superb links to all the major sites. Room was tiny (305- suspect it’s normally a single- we’d booked a double), somewhat dated but spotlessly clean. A/C, fridge, safe all not working in the room. Shower area simple but clean and bright. Needs an overhaul, decor and amenities-wise. It was a bit like a time-warp but did have some charm. Check in though was simply awful. The chap made us feel like an utter inconvenience and was simply rude (tried pushing us a taxi return to the airport which we politely declined- from that point he had no time for us and wouldn’t answer simple questions about the metro… ‘Ask me tomorrow, as I’m busy’. He actually wasn’t even on Reception as we arrived. We waited ten minutes then loudly said ‘Bonjour’, which he appeared to take issue with. He was irked from the start). Evening staff great though- warm and welcoming. Didn’t eat at Castex as the breakfast room didn’t look that appealing. All in all, the location is amazing, a clean if tiny room (305), comfortable bed, decent shower but no amenities to speak of.

The property was an easy walk from the rain station and good location to explore the old part of Paris. Room was compact but adequate Staff were friendly and helpful

Small secure hotel in the 4th. Close to metro Bastille or Sully-Morland. Safe during the day and evening, lots of shops, grocery, pharmacy and restaurants and bakeries in the area.We had the connecting rooms; two rooms with full washrooms connected with a hallway, felt like a house. The rooms were clean and had a safe and mini fridge. Street facing room had some noise in the morning for daily garbage collection, very quick. Back room faced a courtyard with access from the ground floor. Breakfast was more than expected. Eggs, deli meat, yogurt, cheese and puréed fruit cups. Mini croissants, pain au chocolate, variety of other bread as well as gluten free bread and a toaster. Coffee machine, tea and juice as well as cereals. Nice assortment or jams, honey and Nutella. Daily cleaning of our rooms with fresh towels. Wifi was good and staff were pleasant and courteous. There’s a computer and printer in the lobby. This hotel is charming and has all the amenities needed. I would return in a heartbeat.

Good location, quiet, front desk charming and very helpful

Our first 3 days were spent without hot water and then we had 2 days without a properly functioning lift. We were refunded 3 days money and our breakfasts were provided free. The receptionists were excellent and did what they could to diffuse the situation. The women in charge of the breakfast room on the otherhand didnt set the tables, or refill the items on the breakfast until asked even when there there was 2 hours left of service.

Location is great . I stayed here for one night as I was coming in from Newcastle to Paris for work . So I traveled all day to come into Paris and got into my room to take a shower and there was no hot water . Went downstairs and asked the staff he didn’t really care much and told me he forgot to tell me that there’s no hot water in the building ... Quite disappointed to be honest . Could have call and told me before I checked in so I could book another hotel . There was no hot water this morning either before I went to work .

Great location. Nice room and facilities. Really great.

Great little hotel. Close to shops and restaurants. Walkable and safe area. Small rooms but everything you need. Beds are fine but have large dips in the middle. Could use a refresh. Other than that it was nice, quiet and convenient
