Our American family of four traveled from EuroDisney to Lyon and stayed in the Vertigo Suite at Mihotel and wow, what a gem! The moment we walked in, my kids exclaimed, “This is the best hotel room ever!” My wife was equally amazed and joked that she wanted to come back — but next time, without the kids.
The suite is simply breathtaking: nearly 4-meter ceilings, beautiful ornate wall paneling, original hardwood floors, and a one-bedroom layout that feels straight out of Architectural Digest. The master bed and pull-out couch were both very comfortable, the shower pressure was excellent, and the freestanding bathtub was pure luxury. The modern kitchen was stylish, well-equipped, and perfect for a family stay.
We’ve stayed in many hotels across Europe, but this one truly stands out for its design, comfort, and atmosphere.
Highly, highly recommend Mihotel and the Vertigo Suite!

This is the coolest hotel I've ever stayed in. We loved it. Huge space w kitchen, in a secure courtyard, near transit and in a very walkable area. Not a typical hotel but several suites in different areas. Cleaning staff were friendly and immediately helpful.

Great location in Lyon, with many options for dining and the like. Quiet neighborhood but close to main areas. We have mixed reviews about this place. There is no front desk, so all booking information and payment has to be handled via the internet. We had difficulty in verification in paying for the booking. I did speak with a representative and confirmed booking via Mastercard - however they booked using the Visa card which I did not want to do. Also beware that the allowed arrival time was not until 5 pm, which was problematic with no flexibility whatsoever. Cleaning service was provided but never before 4 pm which was also problematic as we went out during the day, and then came back to rest up before dinner. The accommodation is on the American first floor in an old building - there was no light in the stairwell at night. With all of that said, we would consider staying here again.

The cleaning lady was very nice and helpful. The property was breathtaking from the interior. I felt like royalty. The surrounding area was beautiful. The Teneo Restaurant was amazing. Too bad the business in the corner was shut down. Perhaps this hotel can open one under its own name.

Instructions for entry to this private property emailed the day before arrival were wrong. They were missing a code for one door and the code was wrong for the other door. Had to call long distance (CND to France phone line) to get help. Was given a lock box code for a key. Elevator stated 225kg capacity but we got stuck. It was more like 225lb capacity. Courtyard was badly run down. Room was very dusty including the TV, top shelf in the closet and the bedside nook areas. The designer of the room gets 5 stars. The space was beautifully retrofitted to half an old apartment. Not sure why after our check-in mishap that we were not compensated with a free snack or drink (all of which were already in the room). Mi Hotel could have saved themselves from a negative review. Would not recommend.

Overall, it was a nice room with a great kitchenette and table/chair set up. The bed was big, comfortable and the window shutters kept the room dark, quiet. I was nervous about the reception free check-in process with codes being sent by email before my stay BUT the process worked great and we had no trouble. I was disappointed in only two small areas. The air conditioner did not work. I specifically paid extra for a room with an air conditioner, so I was disappointed. Also, there were not very many towels. I kitchen hand towel as well as a bathroom hand towel for drying off and wiping up would have been appreciated. Overall, still highly satisfied.

When we got to the suit, the code they had provided didn’t work so we had to call them and they told us there was a key in a lockbox! Why didn’t the share that info in the first place! The entrance was very dirty! Apparently the person living downstairs was moving out and had all of their things scattered in the hallway. There were no hangers or anything to hang the towels on. No trash can in the bathroom! The toilet and the bathroom sink were on two different sides of the room! There were some insects including spiders in the room.

MiHotel is NOT a hotel, not an apart-hotel, simply a company that rents out private apartments in various residential buildings - our building was old and dilapidated. We were lured by a good location, but after we paid online, we got a completely different location more than 1 km away and they stopped replying to messages. Of course, there are no services at all that one takes for granted in a hotel: reception, breakfast, etc. - you simply get digital codes to the doors, that’s it - good luck if anything goes wrong.

This property is spacious but poorly designed, just a large open room with bathtab, master bed and two single beds in the same room with no divider. The wash sink is too small with no space for anything. The toilet floor is some old raw stones with dirts. We reminded the staff that we need fresh towels everyday which was promised based on the checkin policy, but first day we had to message a few times and second day no towels at all. During the shower, hot water stopped all of sudden. Overall it is a poorly managed apartment hotel room.
