Very nice hotel, staff was fantastic, helpful in so many ways. We didn’t have time for breakfast the last day we were there and they didn’t have “take away boxes” but other than that I would highly recommend this property

Located an easy block walk from Parliament Sqare. Restaurants galore in neighboring side strides, most open air cafes. Market 15 minutes walk for snacks and such. Don’t expect Tshirt shops and hucksters in this area. Easy pick up for Acropolis tours and day trips at Parliment square. There is a McDonaldsacross from the Parliment Park/Plaza for those who need a fix. Coffee shops and bake goods shops are everywhere.

Beware this Hotel is VERY strict with their policies! Had a change of flight and they would NOT accommodate the change. Paid for two hotel rooms, begged to change our reservation to the day before our original booking as we had to leave a day earlier due to unforseen conflict, (well in advance..4 months) After numerous emails, virtual chats, sending our flight itinerary with the change the hotel would not budge. Under no circumstances would the hotel even try to discuss options. needless to say when we arrived at the hotel on our original reservation (the day we were now departing Athens) we asked to please try to have our rooms available for early check-in just to freshen up before our flight back home. Was told no rooms were available, could have one room ready by 11, took my phone numbr, I assumed me giving phone number they would call to confirm a room was actually ready. Never received a call. Went to hotel at 2pm our driver was there to transfer to airport. The Manager VANA seemed to have an attitude when we arrived at the Hotel on the 14th and seemed to know who we were from the MANY correspondences back and forth to beg for a change in reservation. We were informed breakfast was on the rooftop but we didn't have in included in our reservation so it would be 22pp, we had a 20 percent off with our reservation for food/bev. but they did not apply the discount. Pd. 500.00 USD but never set foot in a room, book ATHENS GATE, fabulous location and wonderful staff!

This hotel located in the center of Athens was wonderful. It is close to anything you’d want to try or shop or eat. The hotel has a wonderful rooftop breakfast area with a delicious breakfast buffet. Also at night they serve drinks up there and you have a spectacular view of the Acropolis. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Even at night, it was actually quiet, which was a bit of a surprise being in such a central area. We even had a balcony we could sit out on. I would definitely go back to this hotel and visit it again.

Great location !!! Right in the heart of Athens close to all the main sites. 5 min walk to synngaem (sp?) square and Hadrian's arch. Staff extremely helpful very accommodating. I didn't take the breakfast so I can't speak to the food. Only reason for my four versus five rating is that there was construction on the roof deck so the views of the Acropolis were only available inside. Outside patio was closed. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is centrally located near all the main attractions in Athens, and well within easy walking distance. The staff were friendly, polite, and very willing to help. The breakfast buffet had a great array of options, and was restocked often for freshness. The room conditions are the only thing I would give one less star for. The room seemed a bit old, and was small and cramped. The plumbing in the bathroom was a mess, and often had a strong sewage odor that made it very gross. Whoever designed the shower did not understand the flow of water, and unfortunately whenever the shower was used, a large puddle of water would flood the bathroom. It was also frustrating that the shower was just a wand, and not a standard overhead shower. The bathroom was also tiny, and it was impossible to open the door fully due to the cramped size. Other than that, the stay at the hotel was good, and I would recommend.

There is also a very interesting museum about the famous opera singer Maria Callas a short walking distance from the hotel.

The Astor was a wonderful boutique style hotel set in the heart of Athens! It was in walking distance of many great restaurants and places to souvenir shop or regular shop. The staff was very attentive! The restaurant at the top had an AMAZING view of The Acropolis and the ambience was nice as well! They had a buffet breakfast every morning and the restaurant served finger foods and drinks in the later hours! The hotel was also convenient for pick up for a few of our excursions. One thing to know is that hotel rooms here are on the smaller side however, if you’re vacationing in Greece you’re really only using it to sleep. Beds were comfortable and it was very quiet in the hotel at night the city below is lively though. Thank you to everyone who works at the Astor for a wonderful experience!
