This was my first time staying at a Ketapang hotel, namely the Nevada Hotel. The room was spacious, with pillows and bolsters, making it feel like sleeping at home. The blankets were comfortable and thick, the hot water worked well, and it was very clean. The breakfast was varied, but what was impressive was the unique Malay food. The chef and staff were also friendly, and the facilities included a gym and a delicious restaurant, allowing for a relaxing coffee. The receptionist was also friendly and immediately responded to our needs. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. Overall, I highly recommend staying at the Nevada Hotel if you're in Ketapang.

This is my husband and my first experience staying at the fave hotel Ketapang, incidentally its location inside the mall, making it easier for us to access the mall without having to get far away from the hotel. The room is clean and fragrant, even the toilet. It's a pleasure to stay at a hotel that cares about the environment like this, not only bamboo toothber brush, They even put adrinking in every room instead of plastic bottles, Don't worry they also provide several water dispensers outside the room to refill our too. less plastic less worry, good job fave hotel!

For Filipino travellers, it's crucial to know the location of the nearest Philippine Embassy or Consulate in Indonesia, which can provide assistance in emergencies. While Nanga Tayap itself may not have specific tourist police, general law enforcement is available. It is always recommended to have comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical emergencies and unforeseen events during your trip.

Travellers departing from Manila (MNL) or Cebu (CEB) can look for flights to major Indonesian hubs like Jakarta (CGK) or Surabaya (SUB), followed by a domestic flight to Ketapang (KTP), the closest airport serving the Nanga Tayap region. Flight durations can range from 8 to 15 hours or more, depending on layovers. The estimated cost for a round trip can vary significantly, but budget around ₱15,000 to ₱30,000 in PHP, depending on booking time and airline.

Once you arrive at Ketapang Airport (KTP), the primary gateway to Nanga Tayap, you will need to arrange onward transportation to your accommodation. Local taxis and pre-booked car services are the most convenient options for the approximately 1-2 hour drive to Nanga Tayap itself, depending on your specific destination within the region. While public buses exist, they can be less direct and time-consuming for international visitors unfamiliar with the routes. For those planning their trip, it's advisable to book your flight well in advance to secure better fares.

The best time to visit Nanga Tayap generally aligns with Indonesia's dry season, which typically runs from May to September. During these months, the weather is more favourable for outdoor activities and exploration, with less rainfall and more sunshine. This period also coincides with peak tourist seasons in many parts of Indonesia, so expect slightly higher prices for accommodation and potentially more crowds. For travellers seeking a quieter experience and potentially lower costs, the shoulder months of April and October can offer a good balance.

Before embarking on your journey to Nanga Tayap, a few pre-departure preparations are essential. Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay. The local currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR), and while major credit cards are accepted in larger establishments, carrying some cash is advisable for smaller vendors and local markets. Purchasing a local SIM card upon arrival at the airport can provide affordable data access for navigation and communication. Essential apps include a reliable map service and a translation tool.

The application process for visa-free entry is straightforward upon arrival at Indonesian immigration checkpoints, including airports serving Ketapang. You will likely be asked to present your passport and may need to provide details about your itinerary, including your intended length of stay and accommodation bookings in Nanga Tayap. While no visa fee is typically charged for this visa-free facility, it is always prudent to confirm the latest regulations with the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate in the Philippines before your travel dates, as policies can change.

While visa-free entry is common, it is always recommended for travellers to verify the most up-to-date visa policies directly with the official immigration authorities of Indonesia or the Indonesian Embassy in the Philippines prior to booking flights and making travel arrangements.
