The staff were wonderful. Their English was limited, but if you were patient then they were. We ate dinner there our first night and it was fabulous. Breakfast was great. They provided a bus pass to the city using #172. But you could use other South Tyrol buses with the pass. We were able to use bus# 350 back to Bolzano.

The location is very close to the Ortisei main town and is walkable. The neighborhood is very quiet and on a meadow overlooking the other Chalets on the Alpine meadows. The staff is also very warm and welcoming.

The proprietor, Eugene is a delightful fellow. We were there in the off-season, and Claudio, the Romanian all-around helper, was also a wonderful guy. Not as spiffy looking as other hotels in the area or elsewhere in the Dolomites, but very gemutlich. Reasonably convenient to some amazing scenery. Plan on eating meals other than breakfast elsewhere. Highly recommended.

Nice hotel with a bus stop out front, shuttle some days, and a pool/sauna/hammam. Although we enjoyed the hotel, it's important to note it's a bit outside the city so requires a 15-20min walk in or scheduling with the bus outside, otherwise, great for apre-ski and the night sky.

The hotel was very nice and clean with fantastic staff. Beautiful grounds. September visit in off season. Very good breakfast included. This area seemed to be a lower priority among vacationers to the high alpine valley but I don’t know why. Great public transport with bus stop right there. It is A little away from “main” Ortesie (I’e can’t walk easily to town stuff) But for me the quiet was great. I’d go back. It’s a great value if you have a car or are willing to take an extra leg of public transport.

Courteous and friendly staff- very accommodating. Had to change my stay by one night due to booking error on my part. Hotel owner waived change fees. Pleasant views of surrounding countryside. Breakfast was very good. Also not far from the Dolomites.

Very comfortable. The hosts were welcoming, we came in late at night and they waited for us. Breakfast was perfect. Very clean and roomy accommodation and the bathroom was exceptionally large as well.

Hotel Rodes has a great location and an ok pool. But that’s where it ends. The standard in the hotel is quite bad. The rooms are in desperate need of an upgrade. And the breakfast is a sad story. We have also found a silverfish in the bathroom. But all of that could be disregarded if the staff was friendly. There is one extremely rude woman working in the restaurant. She was very rude during check in and during our breakfast. We will for sure never come back. The price was 300 euros per night, which was ridiculously overpriced for what you get.
