Hotel Villa Carlotta

A beautiful hotel located approx 25 min walk from ponte vechio bridge. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Dogs are welcome. Breakfast was continental with plenty of choice. Pool area clean. 2 shaded areas about 6 sun beds were out when we were there plus deckchair type seats. You are given a towel to use by the pool on arrival. Pool cold so ery cooling in the heat. 1 downside was the pool did need some updating of the tiles at the bottom of it. There is a bararea all very historic in its decor as well as a piano. The rooms are either on the 1st or 2nd floor of the main hotel or on the extension by the car park. There is a night watch man on duty. The door is locked at 11pm you are given the code to use if you're returning later than this to the hotel. The room was perfect. Tall ceilings huge bed lovely bathroom. The rooms were cleaned daily. There was a tv on the wall. 1 wardrobe. A fridge, kettle but no cups or milk I think you ask for these at reception. The fridge has complimentary water coke and beer. This is replenished each day and you are charged at the end of your visit. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

just like the building, the property is old and rundown. The air-conditioning did not work and there were bedbugs and we found bedbugs in the room. the pool is ok and breakfast could be better. the only thing good was the front desk help calling taxi and restaurants reservations.

Great stay! About a 20ish minute walk to Ponte Vecchio

Our family of 5 had a wonderful 4 night stay in the main building (kids ages 10,12,14). It’s a converted very old Villa that has been nicely renovated and the room sizes were generous; it was so charming! We really appreciated the pool after hot afternoons walking in the crowded city and museums. The neighborhood is just outside the Boboli Garden two blocks from the Roman Gate but felt like we were staying miles away from the busy, crowded city streets. All you see and hear around the Villa are trees and the sounds of the birds, with almost no traffic noise at all. The hotel wasn’t crowded, and breakfast had a nice variety and the most delicious fresh croissants! The staff was very attentive and friendly. It’s a 4 star hotel but I’ll give it five stars for charm, location, amenities and service!

Great experience at Hotel Villa Carlotta. Quiet location with a lovely pool that unfortunately we didn't have time to use. My only note was it would have been nice to have been offered a drink while we were sat by the pool on our first morning but that's a minor minor detail. Loved it and would have loved to stay longer.

Staff were very accommodating and friendly. I needed an iron and ironing board. They broyghtuit to my room without hesitation. Beautiful property with free off street parking. I was riding a motorcycle, so having off street parking was a must.

Delightful villa in a safe residential-like setting within walking distance to the Florence city gate. Clean, comfy, quiet, very helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again.

The building doesn’t look like it has had any money spent on it since the 1980’s.Very shabby hotel, shame on the owners, it could be fab. Had holes in sheets and towels. No duvet it’s a 1950’s style blanket between sheets. Not hygienic these days. Dirt and dust everywhere. Cushions with stains on. One pillow each. Dining chairs in the breakfast room all broken. Car park which we managed to get a space, parks 10 cars. Neighbourhood very good and it’s a walk down the hill to the bus stop which you can use to get into town for 1.70€. Reception can sell you the tickets. We did taxis back which cost us between 15-20€. After a day walking so much it was a relief to come back to the pool (not heated) to paddle in. Our room was 119 and 118 would have the same beautiful view. No drawers or storage space for clothes so couldn’t unpack. It’s more B&B as there’s no actual menu for food in the evenings and it’s a walk down that hill again to get to any local shops or restaurants. But they do a ‘snack’ menu. Sandwiches and two pizzas on it. And they have a bar you can get drinks from. Cheap prices. We chose this location as we were driving so needed to be outside the ZTL zone and not pay for expensive garage parking. So it suited us. If you are flying in. Stay closer to town is my advice. Would I stay here again. No. But huge praise for the reception ladies.Their English was brilliant. They helped us with everything we needed locally.

Although it is located slightly away from the city centre, it benefits from close proximity to the bus station, providing convenient access to transportation. The room was clean and well maintained, and the breakfast was of good quality. The hotel’s interior design was particularly appealing. Overall, it was a comfortable and satisfactory stay.

I enjoyed my stay, everything is amazing.

Over all a pleasant stay it needs quite an upgrade, no dinner, just snacks, no tea and coffee facility too far from everything need to spend a lot of money on taxis.

Staff were very helpful and friendly, fantastic environment very clean, elegant. It was so nice to go out all day to shop and explore Florence and come back to the pool. Have a drink by the pool and then go out for a nice dinner close by I have recommended this hotel to many friends. I’m looking forward to going back next year and staying longer. 🇮🇹💕
