Staff very friendly! Spend the extra money for the onsen in the room and for the buffet dinner! They are both worth every penny! We can’t wait to go back. The only downside was the bed/futon and bean pillows. The bed and pillow was uncomfortable and my husband didn’t like the futon and he sleeps on the floor every night. The “Las Vegas” was ok but many machines were down. Loved the pipe organ!!

Im glad i booked a room with outdoor hot tub. I loved japanese rooms that consist of spacious view side and tatami floor; my room had split toilet and shower stall as well, which is massive plus bc i dislike UnitBath system. Lounge access was great with local specialty beverages and snacks. The premise has so many retails and entertainment places. The buffet offered wide varieties that went beyond my expectations. Overall, one if the best establishments in Kinugawa. The outdoor bath on the highest floor was massive plus.

This was our third stay at Asaka Hotel Kinugawa Onsen, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. We booked a two-night stay purely for relaxation, and it was exactly what we needed. The buffet breakfast and dinner continue to impress us with their sumptuous spread—a wonderful balance of local flavors and variety. Every meal feels like a culinary treat that elevates the whole experience. One of the highlights for my wife is the in-room onsen, filled with natural hot springs water. She truly enjoys the privacy and comfort of soaking right in our room. As for me, I took full advantage of the public baths, which are always immaculately clean and well-maintained. It’s clear the staff takes pride in ensuring a serene and hygienic environment for all guests. Asaka Hotel has become a special place for us, and we look forward to returning again.

Our room was clean, well maintained and well furnished. The decor of the public rooms are a bit dated and could use a refresh. We only stayed one night and the location is distant from Nikko. If you lack a car, this location may not be for you. We came from Nikko by private car hire and left the same way. Buffet dining offered many selections but seating was crowded.

Absolutely wonderful room- king bed with private hot spring bath ( room 1127). Wonderful amenities, goodies, drinks in fridge, etc. spacious, clean, well appointed. Half board very fun! Discount tickets for Edo Wonderland. So much fun!! Only 30 minutes to Nikko sightseeing- we had a private driver take us around for the day. Highly recommend 3 nights! One to rest up, one to spend the day at Edo Wonderland, one to enjoy NIKKO. Very relaxing with history and culture, we really enjoyed this area! The hotel has lots of Japanese Princess dolls on exhibit!

A great place to stay. We enjoyed the 3 days we spent here. Our room was exceptional with a private onsen overlooking the river and the mountains. The food choices were varied including western meals, Japanese meals and Chinese meals. The hotel is located away from any other amenities and a taxi or the hotel bus has to be taken to go to any sights.

We stayed at Asaya for 3 nights and it was one of the more memorable experiences during our 2 week Japan sojourn. All the staff from the front desk crew to other supporting staff were very friendly and it was obvious that they strived to make our stay enjoyable. The buffet dinner and breakfast were excellent with a great variety of Japanese and Western items. All were freshly prepared with local ingredients. The decor of the property has a very distinct 1980's vibe but the management manages to keep the hotel in good shape and the facility is very well maintained. All in all, highly recommended if you are in Nikko area.
