Wonderful onsen experience. They have curtesy bikes to make the most of the awesome path along the river.
Rooms were musty but you get used to it, it’s fine for a short stay. Nice and spacious and comfortable.
Staff were friendly. The breakfast was delicious.
Iya Valley is lovely, definitely get out to the bridges when they open. We had one to ourselves and only a couple of people at the twin bridges.

We picked this hotel for a Japanese experience at a hot springs. Which it delivers. So this is a bamboo mat, sleep on the floor on a thin mat type of place for the room we booked. Which is what we wanted for 1 night. Shower is outside with the hot tub. Great views across the river while soaking in the tub. The shower and tub had decent coverage for the rainy day we were there. The dinner is set, with some items that were, uhm, unique for us during our trip. We had lunch at an excellent soba place up river, and the breakfast buffet at the hotel. There isn't much close by so dining options are limited

The rooms are quite outdated, but I go here for the onsen and beautiful view it offers of the green hills in the gorge area. Hearing the river is an extra bonus. The onsen area is well kept and been remodeled a bit. The rooms need work, but the important points- comfortable bed and good heating/AC unit are great.

Comfortable place to stay at Oboke, the staff is helpful, much appreciate on the shuttle service between Oboke station and the hotel. The only disappointed is the Wi-Fi service.

The hotel was decent and simple but the best part was that it is located near Oboke and therefore provided very easy access to exploring Iya Valley and the mountain regions towards the east. There are a lot of bugs (mostly moths) in the area though, so one to keep note of as it does affect the outdoor onsen area.

Took the open air bath room cause we wanted privacy for onsen. Didn't know the spring water was cold and need to heat up the system before u can use, it was a let down for us on this. The hotel was clean but the style is very traditional. Dinner and breakfast not too bad.

The staff is helpful. My luggage is too big for the locker at the train station and I just couldn't go to the scenery with the luggage. I needed to take the train at the time when I got off the bus at the station after sightseeing. When I ask them to take my luggage to the station on the day I left, they finally agreed though it is not a service that should be provided.
