Solana Beach - Adults Only

I had a wonderful experience at Solana Beach. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly — they made me feel at home straight away. The hotel surprised me with a complimentary room upgrade, and I was blown away by how spacious and comfortable the room was. It had everything I needed and more, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy my stay. The pool area is a highlight — large, clean, and with a perfect atmosphere whether you want to chill out with a cocktail or go for a proper swim. Food-wise, Solana delivers. The restaurant options are varied, with something for everyone, and the quality was consistently excellent. Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner, there was always a fresh and tasty choice. Overall, Solana Beach gave me the mix of relaxation, service, and quality that makes for a truly memorable holiday. I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Mauritius — and I’d definitely return!

Property is very old, in need of renovation. Food was ok, you do get bored if you stay longer as the menu doesn’t really change. Staffs very rude, no manners, very disrespectful behavior towards guests and their own colleagues. There is room for improvement if proper actions taken.

Récemment revenu de deux semaines mémorables en juillet, nous avons passé nos vacances à l’île Maurice, à l’hôtel Solana Beach. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons bénéficié d’un accueil chaleureux : toute l’équipe a été à l’écoute pendant tout le séjour; petit déjeuner et dîner étaient servis à l’heure, avec un service attentionné qui anticipait chacune de nos demandes. Nous avons également profité des soins au Ylang Spa, où des professionnelles telles qu’Usha, Kaelyna et Vima, aux mains expertes, ont rendu chaque massage mémorable. Nous tenons à remercier tout particulièrement Laëtitia et Dominique pour leur excellent accueil ! Le personnel était toujours professionnel et souriant. L’établissement offrait un vrai confort : literie agréable, chambre bien agencée, repas variés, petit-déjeuner copieux et animations du soir parfaitement organisées. C’est un véritable top‑10 pour le Solana Beach ! Le sous-directeur prend le temps de saluer les convives, ajoutant une touche personnelle très appréciée. Nous recommandons vivement Solana Beach Mauritius à toute personne souhaitant vivre des vacances reposantes, sans stress et remplie d’attention. Merci encore à toute l’équipe !

We arrived on the 29th Aug 2025 and it was raining all 4 days we were there with occasional sun due to the anti cyclone. Staff are very friendly and hospitable and even checking in with us to make sure our stay is good. Everywhere is clean and not a single rubbish to be found. There are daily activities to participate in and gym that is big and clean. The only issue I had was the hot water. It was not working in the afternoon and evening which is when I really wanted to shower after a whole day of activities and travelling. Which didn’t get resolve on the first day and was only solved after a few long while after informing them about it. The breakfast buffet is nice for the first day then it gets boring the longer you stay. It was heavy on carbs and less proteins. Overall I had a pleasant stay and would like to stay again in October when the weather is better.

To be honest this was very difficult. Starting with the nice bit, it’s cheap, and it was my first time in Mauritius so I didn’t know the relativity of quality but it’s stark for this 4 star hotel and the 5, so acknowledging this is cheaper and judging it reasonably there are glaring issues. 1. Day 1. The room had a leak on the roof so when it rained at 3:00 in the morning it was like a drum on the roof, call reception and they offered to take me on a tour of other rooms I could move to. Not thrilling. 2. There was mould in the room in the bathroom where clearly there is no ventilation, this comes with the expected smells. Not great for the start of your holiday. 3. Change room day 2, and another roof problem, this time the AC unit had parts not attached properly, so when you try and sleep at night and there is wind in a tropical country, banging once again ensues like a drum. 3 calls with maintaince and fixed (recurred later in the trip) 4. The mattress is like sleeping on bricks, to the point I had a massage at the start and end of the stay - which I booked at the hotel down the road as it’s just nicer (I spent 2 days in Longbeach on there day pass which you can buy for 200 euro for 2 people and highly recommend) 5. The toilet broke - and was fixed 3 times before on the last time it wouldn’t flush they changed the whole cistern … but living with this isn’t great on holiday. There is more - leaks in multiple roofs, significant safety issues in the gym .. you get it

Rooms in poor condition air conditioning very noisy,floor around the toilet rotten making it wobble all in all very tired. Paid for 8 days only stayed 7 asked for late check out wanted to charge another day still not heard back from Expedia as was told to contact agent about the extra day refund hotel couldn’t sort it apparently. The staff were very nice all the time they could try to sell you a special menu evening any other time adequate. From our experience I would not recommend but you could get lucky

We had a lovely time. Staff was polite, always smiling and welcoming. The rooms were clean, beautiful decorated and comfortable. The location was perfect. Service was consistently excellent with outstanding hospitality. Staff could not do enough and was hard working. Will definitely come back.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and professionalism. From the front desk staff to the restaurant staff, they were all fantastic, attentive, friendly and genuinely cared. They looked happy and smiling all the time. Our rooms, booked 4 rooms, were spotless, beautiful and very comfortable. Housekeeper did a fantastic job through our stay. The activities were OK. The night entertainment should be better. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend Solana Beach Hotel.

First of all, I am not used write negative reviews, but have to do it this time to let other people know about this place. It was a terrible experience. The hotel quality doesn’t corresponds with pictures and with 4* hotel level at all (perhaps 15 or 20 years ago). Some personnel are nice and friendly. Beside many negative and strange things, the wooden terase around swimming pool is really dangerous - old rotten boards across complete terase, when my wife was trying to enter the pool 2 boards came out and only by luck she was not seriously injured - never seen something similar at any hotel.

Absolutely loved our stay at Solana Beach Hotel! The staff is just fantastic, friendly and very attentive! Only suggestions are to have more bins around to leave rubbish and the toilet would benefit a fresh coat of paint.

Very bad experience not clean I left the hotel after 3 night. Not a 4 stars

Fab location,majority of staff were pleasant.Property while fine,could really do with a bit of a revamp/renovation.strange system of having to sign random receipts even when all-inclusive(no bands?).Request if a late check out from 11am-2pm was met with a ‘nominal charge’ of 110€,even though we were already entitled to all inclusive until 3pm (and property was certainly less than 50% occupied),really let them down imo,and wouldn’t endear me to book again I’m afraid

Great hotel

A really nice and quiet hotel. Lots of sunbeds available so you dont have to race to reserve one in the morning. The views from the bedroom are absolutely unmatched as well. Ghey clean yhe rooms twive a day, once after breakfast and again at 7pm which was a bit unnecessary since most people are getting ready for dinner around 7pm. Food at the main restaurant was very good, especially the grilled fish which was fresh and delicious. The only downside i found was that they tried to upsell you to do their paid dinner meal experiences every single day. Normally they would come to your table either at lunch or breakfast trying to sell you the dinner experience. They were lovely and not pushy at all but felt a bit unnecessary. Overall, the hotel was really good value for money.

There were a lot of hidden costs even if you were “all inclusive”. When issues brought up to management they were very helpful and accommodating

Il resort meglio chiamarlo pensione potrebbe avere un potenziale da 5 stelle peccato che gestito o meglio non gestito il tutto lasciato all incuria così come il mangiare una settimana le stesse cose sempre con gli uccellini che mangiavano e non solo nelle teglie della cucina non parliamo del servizio ordini una bevanda per pranzo prima che capiscono e si ricordano dove portarle avrai finito il pranzo - animazione un tavolo da ping pong H24 veramente scadente per il prezzo che chiedono - non lo consiglio

Hotel was so awful and dirty that we decided not to stay. The beach and hotel look nothing line the pictures. We were told by the manager that every day they have complaints about the cleanliness and hotel not looking like the pictures but they still have bookings (I assume not repeat!). The whole attitude was that he didn’t care. Please book elsewhere, a holiday to Mauritius is a wonderful experience and staying here will ruin it.

Excellent. Staff great, friendly, approachable and professional. Food was good, buffet style, ate too much ! Beautiful walks along the coast. Not hassled by anyone, just walked for miles. Evening entertainment, leisure staff cheerful and energetic. All good, loved our three week stay.
