All staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Rooms, although a little small are clean and adequate. Hotel Nes was well located for everywhere we were wanting to go

Very nice hotel, close to everything. Staff is extremely friendly, especially Rick. Very helpful, every recommendation was great. Bathroom and toilet in one, causes a bit of a mess when showering but not a huge deal in my eyes. They do have an elevator which is great with narrow stairs. Overall, I’d love to stay here again if I visit.

Fantastic central location walkable with easy access to shopping, dining, and public transportation. Welcoming staff provided a comprehensive list of dining options nearby. Both of the restaurants I chose from the list were fantastic. The canal view from my 3rd floor room was spectacular!

Excellent location for walking to just about anywhere worth seeing in Amsterdam. I can't say enough about how friendly and helpful the front Desk staff was on all shifts. The breakfast was also fresh and good.

Very traditional property in a great location. Decor is a bit tired and there is no aircon which made it quite difficult to sleep in the hot weather.

The host and staff were amazing, informative and friendly. They made us coming from North America, comfortable. Frederick, made great recommendations for food and sightseeing and took some time for banter as well. The location is clean and close to the excitment. There was no AC in our room but we did have a fan however, the Dutch weather was not overhwhelming anyway.

Clean and comfortable, great staff. Excellent location on a canal. 5 minutes to tram, 7 minutes to metro. Several restaurants just a few doors down. Very walkable area with nice views. I had a basic single room, the bathroom was a little small, no air conditioning, but there was a fan.

Beautiful view from room. Clean room. Excellent breakfast. Super helpful desk staff. Great neighborhood for walking. Very affordable price.

The staff were brilliant. The room was small and dated - but the location is great, and it was clean and functioning.

What a great location. Very walkable to most areas. Had a hard time trying to pick a restaurant, so many to choose. Canal cruises are a must. Hotel staff were very helpful, and always with a smile. The only negative thing is that there is no air conditioning. It was challenging to keep cool with a small fan on very warm days. The duvet had to go. I realize it is an old building (that is the charm) but maybe they could consider wall mount AC units. Overall we were happy with our choice.

It's good value for money. Our double room (303), was a comfortable size for two people, with enough space for bags and a small wardrobe. As expected for an older building in this area, the rooms are compact and the staircases narrow, but the presence of a lift was a definite bonus. The modern bathroom was a highlight, though it did lack a shower guard, meaning the floor got quite wet after each use. The room had a tv which had 16 satellite channels, including BBC 1, 2 and CBBC, the dutch channels also play English movies with Dutch subtitles. It's not a smart TV, so no Netflix built-in, but the Wi-Fi was good and strong, so if you're like me, definitely bring a Chromecast to stream your own content. The bed was very comfortable, though I did wish the blanket had been a bit thinner for warmer nights. Speaking of warmth, our first day hit 28 degrees Celsius, and the room became quite hot and clammy. Luckily, that was the only super hot day, and it rained that evening, so the fan they provided and opening the windows did the trick. However, I wouldn't recommend it for a prolonged heatwave. The area is quite busy, so with windows open, noise can be an issue. The main issues I had that prevented a perfect score: the carpet, curtains, and scuffed walls made the room feel a bit more dated; the potential for the room to get hot; and the wet bathroom floor after showering. But overall, for a budget-friendly hotel in such a prime location, it genuinely exceeded my expectations
