Thon Hotel Spectrum

A great hotel with amazing staff. Very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was fantastic with a wonderful variety of foods. One of the best fitness facilities experienced at a hotel. Close to the train station. The only minor complaint was the street noise from the bars below but that is beyond the hotel’s control. Thank you Thon

We had a great stay at Thon Hotel Spectrum. The check in experience was superb & we were even able to check in early after arriving on the sleeper train. The room was spacious, comfortable, & clean. We had a coffee machine which was very good, & was topped up daily. As seasoned travellers we have had many hotel breakfasts but this was by far the best - plenty of space for a large hotel, so much choice & variety, & attentive staff. I would choose this hotel again in a heartbeat!

Great stay for work trip, the breakfast was the best I've ever had in all my years of travelling. Room was quite and clean albeit fairly small but was perfectly fine.

The room was European size. Two single beds that were very comfy. No problem sleeping as the hotel is very quiet. Coffee & tea in the lobby all day. The big plus is the breakfast (included). The best I have seen in my years of travel. As I heard one person say “it’s a feast”. Obviously this hotel knows what tourists need to get their day started. Lots of choice including great coffee and protein choices.

Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was 10/10. Location is very good, close to public transport. There was some noise from a nearby bar even though our room was on quieter side. We had an issue with a noisy fan, but staff was very helpful about fixing the issue. Complimentary coffee and tea was a nice touch.

Clean, very friendly staff and walking distance from public transportation. Also the breakfast offering was very ample.

Please note that most of the hotels in Norway do not have air conditioning. And most don’t even have ventilation systems, and just rely on opening the window for air. This works if the streets below the rooms are quiet, otherwise, it will be good for the hotels to put a statement on their webpages to let guests know before hand that some rooms may be noisy when the windows are opened. Guests from overseas may have jet lagged and want to sleep early! Thon Hotel Spectrum is one such hotel and has rooms facing busy streets below which is noisy until 11pm.

Nice and helpful staff at the front desk, comfortable bed, and delicious breakfast with many options.

Comfortable room helpful reception staff especially Susy . Not far from the main railway station but no direct road . Breakfast was quite good without being exceptional.

Breakfast buffet is great

Just had a great 3 night stay here. Firstly, a fabulous breakfast with plenty of choice for everyone including vegetarians like me. The best breakfast I've had at any hotel in both quality and taste. Favourites included the freshly baked bread, scrambled eggs, omelettes, roasted vegetables, mango smoothies, cheese, pancakes and the ginger shots! Plenty of choice as well for meat/fish lovers. All staff were friendly and helpful - a credit to the hotel. Good safe location with bus/tram/train stops nearby. Also a mini fridge to chill your own drinks. Ok, my room was small with a very small bathroom but I had everything I needed and there was no outside noise at all (room 501). I'm 6ft 5 and the bed was comfortable. The waterfall shower was great. I was able to easily leave my luggage there as I had a late return flight. Whilst there are far worse things happening in the world right now, the only negative was that the bathroom floor had an extra hard ridge on entry. Difficult to see as the same colour but painful to stand on in bare feet as I kept forgetting (due probably to my age). Ok, not in the same pain league as when standing on a lego piece your kids had left on the floor but not far off! I'd suggest a small warning sign. At the same time, perhaps a sign warning that you're likely to put on some weight from eating their breakfasts! Overall, I'd stay here again in a heartbeat and will be recommending it to friends and family.

Amazing breakfast and knowledgeable staff

Breakfast buffet is amazing- incredible selection of foods, all fresh and freshly prepared. Plus one can buy a box and fill it up for lunch or afters.
