Thon Hotel Spectrum

Really enjoyed our stay here, staff were excellent and very helpful. Breakfast as in all Norway hotels is superb. Please note there is quite serious construction work going on beside the hotel and they start early, 7am! It would definitely be worth requesting a room away from the work site. The location is 10minute walk from railway station and there are a lot of very good bars and restaurants close by. You are also very close to the Munch museum and Opera House with the floating saunas close by which are totally worth a visit.

Impossible to sleep! Excessively loud noise outside, people shouting all night using speakers. The property offers earplugs to block the noise but this is absolutely useless. When complaining on the next morning, the receptionist told me I should have asked to change rooms (in the middle of the night???!!) because they “could gladly put me in a quiet room”. So why didn’t they in the first instance??? For that, I would say the discomfort really is hotel’s fault, as it could be avoided easily if somebody cared the least about clients.

A really comfy hotel - nice cosy rooms, lovely soft bed (slept really well) and amazingly friendly staff (great level of customer service). The highlight was the included breakfast - breakfast included as standard in my experience has been quite basic, but here the breakfast spread is amazing, and certainly not budget-level. A real treat. I’d go back here in a heartbeat. Fantastic location for events at the Spektrum or Folketeateret.

Centrally located from city center. Lots of shopping and restaurants near as well as Central train station. Excellent breakfast every morning. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Wonderful hotel, well-located, with undoubtedly the best breakfast buffet that I have even experienced!

The hotel staff are super helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is in a good location. Close to restaurants and a 10 minute walk to central train station. The room however was so small. We had to pick the suitcase up to walk around the bed. The hotel could also use a little T.L.C

The location was convenient and the customer service was excellent. However, the neighborhood was noisy, and all the construction around it made it look trashy. And quite frankly, the whole neighborhood was not inviting at all.

Ordered breakfast to go for the next day as we had an early flight. But when we went to check out, the attendant would not give us the ones they had prepared as he said they were for someone else. He did not offer any solution. Nor did he apologuze (the kitchen was open he could have done something as it was clear on our file we had ordered).

The staff were very nice and helpful! Breakfast was amazing - so many incredible options! The bed was awful! They said it was a queen but it seemed like a full size (which might just be a cultural difference). Since we were already on a top floor with a sloped ceiling, the small bed and very warm room, made us quite claustrophobic. I barely slept all night! I called the front desk in the morning to see if we could upgrade for a larger room/bed but they were fully booked. Because we were so tired and frustrated, we ended up switching hotels and got a great place with a king size bed (and had a wonderful nights sleep! Although we lost our room payment AND prepaid breakfast!) The area around this hotel is also a bit sketchy - although the location is convenient to Central Station. If I could get another room with a different bed or layout, I would consider staying again just because the staff and breakfast was worthwhile. But, sleep is pretty important when you want to enjoy vacation!

Room was super small but fine for one person. TV didn’t work but that’s ok because I wasn’t staying in my room long. Buffet breakfast was outstanding!

Staff were awesome, from front dest to servers at breakfast. Clean, comfortable room, good location in city centre. Very good breakfast - lots of options, high quality!

This is a very cute hotel and we had several nice stays within the Thon chain. Clean, friendly staff, and a wonderful breakfast! However, this particular hotel is directly adjacent to a heavy metal bar, and the music runs late into the evening. If you like to party or enjoy metal coming into your open windows, this is the place for you!!

Our return visit - for one night only - was enjoyable and we received a warm welcome. Travelers, take note: when we couldn’t stay for breakfast during our first stay, the staff offered us a package filled with substantial and healthy items to take with us on the train. That made all the difference!
