Booking your book flight in advance can often secure better fares, especially during peak travel seasons.

Once you arrive at Dumaguete Airport, you can reach Daro and its surrounding districts via taxi or pre-arranged transport. The journey to Daro is relatively short, usually taking about 15-30 minutes depending on traffic. Within Daro and Dumaguete, local transportation options include tricycles, jeepneys, and taxis. Tricycles are ideal for short distances within neighbourhoods, while jeepneys offer a more extensive and budget-friendly network for travelling between districts and to nearby towns. Taxis are also readily available for more direct and comfortable journeys.

The best time to visit Daro generally falls within the dry season, from November to May, when the weather is typically sunny and less humid, making it ideal for outdoor activities and exploration. This period coincides with peak tourist season, so expect slightly higher prices for accommodation and more crowds. The wet season, from June to October, brings occasional rainfall, which can be heavy but often short-lived. This off-peak period offers lower prices and fewer tourists, appealing to budget-conscious travellers or those who don't mind the possibility of rain.

Before your trip to Daro, ensure you have your essential travel documents in order, including a valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining. The local currency is the Philippine Peso (PHP). While major establishments might accept credit cards, it's advisable to carry cash for smaller vendors and local transport. Purchasing a local SIM card upon arrival at the airport can provide affordable data access for navigation and communication. Essential apps to download include a reliable map application and a translation tool if you're not fluent in Tagalog or Cebuano.

Visa Information

For Philippine passport holders planning to visit Daro, which is within the Philippines, no visa is required as you are travelling domestically. Philippine citizens are generally permitted to travel freely within their own country. However, it is always recommended to carry a valid government-issued ID for identification purposes, especially when travelling by air or checking into hotels. Ensure your passport is not expired, as it may be required for certain transactions or identification checks.

For travellers from the United States, European Union member states, India, and African nations planning to visit the Philippines to reach Daro, visa requirements vary. Many nationalities, including those from the US and EU, are granted visa-free entry for short stays (typically 30 days), extendable for a limited period. However, it is crucial to verify the specific visa-free duration and any potential requirements for your nationality with the Bureau of Immigration of the Philippines or the nearest Philippine Embassy or Consulate in your home country.

It is imperative for all international travellers to confirm the latest visa regulations and entry requirements directly with the official immigration authorities of the Philippines or their respective embassies well in advance of their travel dates. Policies can change, and ensuring you meet all entry criteria, including passport validity (usually a minimum of six months beyond your intended stay), proof of onward travel, and sufficient funds, is essential to avoid any issues upon arrival. Booking your book flight and accommodation should ideally be done after confirming your entry eligibility.
