More about Muntinlupa

Muntinlupa Landmarks

Situated in the southernmost part of the National Capital Region is the city of Muntinlupa. If you’d like to explore some of the best commercial establishments in Metro Manila, come visit Muntinlupa. Discover its rich history through its historical landmarks and enjoy its culture and leisure at night.

From its humble beginnings, Muntinlupa City has worked its place up among one of the best and progressive cities in the Philippines and became known as the Emerald City of the Philippines.

Its name is believed to come from different origins but no records can firmly state that these are historically correct: (1) Muntinlupa is believed to be associated with the thin topsoil around the area, (2) it was rumored that the residents of Muntinlupa was asked by Spaniards what place are they in and replied with “Monte sa Lupa” and mistaking the question for what card game they were playing then, (3) it is called Muntinlupa because of its topographical nature, where “Monte” or mountain and have developed to Muntinlupa or mountain land.
