We had a very relaxing staycation at our favorite resort. This is a memorable place for us because this is where I said yes to my husband on our engagement as well as our prewedding photo shoot at the same time. Such a nice place to unwind, not too far from the city. Infinity pool is highly commendable and their hawaian pizza😍

Your Travel Guide to Lapu-Lapu City, Mactan Island as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Lapu-Lapu City, Mactan Island from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For travelers coming from Manila and other major Philippine cities, flying is the most efficient way to reach Lapu-Lapu City, Mactan Island. The Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) serves as the primary gateway. Flights from Manila to Cebu typically range from PHP 2,500 to PHP 6,000 for a round trip, depending on the airline, booking time, and season. The flight duration is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

From other major cities like Davao, Iloilo, or Cagayan de Oro, you can also find direct flights to Cebu. Fares and travel times will vary, but booking in advance through platforms like Traveloka can help secure better prices. Once you land at MCIA, you are already on Mactan Island, making your transfer to Lapu-Lapu City accommodations like Pacific Cebu Resort quite straightforward, usually a short taxi or ride-sharing trip away.

While less common for long distances, bus travel is an option if you are coming from nearby Visayas provinces. However, this would involve longer travel times and potentially multiple transfers. For most travelers from Luzon and Mindanao, booking a flight is the most practical and time-saving method. Remember to book flight tickets early to get the best deals.

Driving to Lapu-Lapu City is feasible if you are already in Cebu province or nearby islands connected by bridges. The island is connected to mainland Cebu by bridges. If driving from further afield, you would need to take a ferry or a flight. Road travel within Mactan Island is generally manageable, though traffic can be a factor during peak hours.

Best Time to Visit Lapu-Lapu City, Mactan Island

The best time to visit Lapu-Lapu City, Mactan Island, for most Filipino travelers is during the dry season, which typically runs from November to May. During these months, the weather is generally sunny with lower chances of rain, making it ideal for outdoor activities, beach visits, and exploring the island. The period between December and February is particularly pleasant, with cooler temperatures and less humidity.

The wet season, from June to October, can bring intermittent to heavy rainfall, which might disrupt outdoor plans. However, this period also sees fewer tourists and potentially lower accommodation prices, which can be appealing for budget-conscious travelers. If you don't mind occasional rain showers and are looking for a more relaxed atmosphere, visiting during the shoulder months of the wet season, like June or October, can still be enjoyable.

Peak tourist seasons often coincide with major holidays like Christmas, New Year, and Holy Week, as well as summer breaks in March and April. During these times, expect higher prices for flights and accommodation, and more crowded attractions. For a balance of good weather and fewer crowds, consider visiting in November, late January, or early February.

It’s a refreshing and tangy dish, perfect as an appetizer, especially in a tropical climate. Many seafood restaurants in the area will feature this dish.

For those who enjoy grilled dishes, Tuslob Buwa is a unique Cebuano experience. It’s a savory, frothy stew made from pork, shrimp paste, and other seasonings, typically served with rice and fried bread. It’s a communal dish, often enjoyed by dipping pieces of bread or rice into the bubbling pot.

Seafood is abundant in Mactan, given its island location. Grilled fish, prawns, and squid are readily available and often prepared simply to highlight their freshness. We loved our big room and also it's near the kiddie pool. The only problem is the wifi is not available in our room or sometimes it appears but very weak signal. The free breakfast is plated but a little generous. Not bad. We love the place and the infinity pool.

Service was despicable. My mom was wearing the appropriate swimming attire and was called out by the life guard for not wearing the proper attire! Are you blind! She was wearing a two piece swimsuit! Complimentary coffee was only 2 and we were 6 pax. Worst of all paid for 2 extra person they didn't even make beddings for the 2nd person!

Room: Room was ok in terms of size, but the bedsheet seems not that clean since it smells. Upon arriving, there was no bath towel to use. I need to call the front desk just to request one. It arrive after few minutes, but one of the towel still has stains and ?feather? Last bad thing about the room is the aircon. The aircon that was use in the room was too small to cool down the room. Even at night, you will feel uneasy. Food: Don't expect too much on the buffet breakfast. Food was below average, when I say below average, either the food like vegetable was overcook or the meat taste weird. During my 2 night stay, I only ate at the breakfast on the first morning. As for the room service, the food that I order was good. I like so far what I have ordered, Hawaiian Pizza, Fetuccine Pasta, Nasi Goreng, and Ceasar Salad. Resort Amenities: Well, I didn't enjoy it much because of the crowded place due to staying there at weekend and holiday. But looking at it. seems like they need to do some renovations. Overall: This place only looks good at the picture, some of the staff were nice. The resort location was very far from other place of interest and very hard to get taxi because of this. Do I recommend my friends or relatives to stay here? Nope, unless they make this place a 3-start worthy resort.

The place is relaxing and calming. There are some things that needed to be fixed like the sink in our room but overall, it was great.

The resort itself is nice, but I just didn't like the beach that much. The room we stayed in was also quite spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. The food at the restaurant is superb, especially the breakfast buffet, which has a wide selection of different cuisine.

Cleanliness, Service, Location and Comfort is Great! However the set of meals at the breakfast buffet, including drinks during can still be improved.

The water is flowing very slowly. It looks like they don't want us to take a shower.

We loved our big room and also it's near the kiddie pool. The only problem is the wifi is not available in our room or sometimes it appears but very weak signal. The free breakfast is plated but a little generous. Not bad. We love the place and the infinity pool.
