We had a wonderful stay at the Lawrence. The bed was the most comfortable out of all our stays so far in Portugal. From our check in to breakfast it was perfect. The young lady at breakfast was a delight and had many great suggestions.

Everything was absolutely wonderful. Such a charming place. Location is very convenient and quiet. Would love to stay there again one day. I was in the tea room which is a ice the main desk. It was lovely but there is a bit of noise early from the desk if someone is looking to sleep in. I had an early start so it was fine for me.

What a beautiful little place. I had read about how difficult parking is in Sintra. We pulled up in front of the hotel where there were four spots sanctioned off. We were told it's OK to park there over night. The hotel was quaint, clean and the staff was beyond hospitable. This hotel is centrally located and you couldn't ask for a better place to stay.

The property is incredible and the location can't be beat. Rooms were clean and filled with charm. This was our second stay. The change we noticed was the hotel desk staff sat all day and were not helpful at all. They actually watched us struggling with our bags and never moved or offered assistance. Upon check-in the same thing happened, we had to ask if they could help us with our bags.

We stayed here for one night in a last minute booking for Sintra. The room and breakfast cost about £120. The hotel is traditional, but in very good way. It is very central and full of character. Within walking distance to many of the attractions. The whole place is spotless, characterful and the staff were welcoming and helpful. Frankly, we had booked and expected something worn and run down and we're really happily surprised. We would return again and recommend to others. Reception - smooth and straightforward. Staff helped with ad hoc queries during our stay. Room - clean and spotless. Effective air con. Huge four poster bed! There was a fridge and coffee maker. The bed was firm (good) with good pillows. There was also a pillow menu. The room was quiet. The shutters and curtains blocked light well. We had an excellent night sleep. Bathroom - again, spotless. Plenty of powerful hot water in the shower. There was a bidet. Miniature shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion. Breakfast - this was truly epic. Fantastic selection with really ripe and tasty fruit skewers, a good cooked selection, a good array of cheeses and meats. We would genuinely pay to do this as a buffet in its own right. Other - we were able to leave our bags at the hotel once we had checked out. Parking is a pain (this is not the fault of the hotel). Summary: we had a lovely and relaxing stay, with an excellent night sleep. We recommend this place.
