This hotel is in the 'center of the universe' in Stari Grad, Belgrade and on the Knez Mihailo street which is filled with tourists, shops, dining and next to the Kalmegdan fortress. The sfaff were friendly and spoke English. The price was extremely reasonable. The only downsides were that there was no elevator to take up my luggage and there was no free parking. There is an underground parking garage essentially next door in the Rajiceva shopping mall but it costs $.

After a long and exhausting journey, we finally arrived at the hotel around 1 AM due to a delayed flight. Unfortunately, the experience at reception was extremely disappointing. The older woman at the front desk was incredibly rude and claimed she could not find our reservation under my name. Even after I clearly showed her the confirmed reservation on my phone, she refused to acknowledge it and acted as though the situation was entirely our problem, seeming fully prepared to turn us away. After some difficult back and forth, I asked if there were any rooms available for the night. Clearly annoyed and rolling her eyes, she said there was only one room left and made us pay for it again, even though the reservation had already been fully paid through Expedia. Thankfully, Expedia’s customer service was very helpful and managed to get one of the charges refunded the next day. Sadly, the receptionist’s behavior left a very bitter impression on us. She was by far the rudest hotel employee I have ever encountered, and honestly one of the rudest people I’ve ever met. Communication was also difficult because she spoke very little English, though enough to make us feel completely unwelcome. It completely ruined our first impression of Belgrade. It’s unfortunate because the hotel itself is actually very nice — the rooms are comfortable and the location is excellent, right in downtown. However, the hotel seriously needs to reevaluate its night shift front desk staff.

This hotel is located right next to shops and restaurants. Very convenient. However it doesn’t have elevator. If you call a taxi you have to meet the driver about a block away as the car is unable to drive up to the entrance.

Do not stay here!!!! The rudest staff I have encountered in hotels in 40 countries!!! Horrible hotel policies and horrendous staff! When I got to the hotel they made me stand outside while a staff member stood inside blocking the door for awhile. I had to stand outside and wait instead of her just letting me by. They then told me the room was ready but unless I paid 50 euros I couldn’t have it for hours. I’ve never had a hotel tell me I couldn’t have the room that was ready unless I paid, and I don’t think that’s a reasonable amount. They were very rude about me even just carrying my bag upstairs to the washroom to change as it was much warmer than where I’d flown in. When I checked out it was terrible! There was a lady at the desk loudly watching videos. I asked if there was an elevator or someone to help carry my bags downstairs and she either couldn’t speak English at all or acted like she couldn’t. She loudly yelled over and over “not my job!” So I carried them myself while she followed me telling “give me key card”. I told her I just needed to get the bags downstairs and I’d give it to her and she was screaming something in another language and kept yelling “key card”. I asked her to wait and said it was in the room if she wanted to get it but but she just kept yelling. I went upstairs and got the key card and then she started yelling that I had to take their taxi. I’d already called my own and had told her that but she kept yelling about their taxi. Just awful!!!

Being able to walk to so many nearby attractions was great. It's close to restaurants, the fortress and park, and the pedestrian street is vibrant and fun. Such a lot going on close by. The bed was a bit old and hard, but the proximity outweighed that. The staff are really helpful and friendly.
