My room smelled like mold, told the front desk had them clean it. The smell went away for a few hours then returned, they gave me disinfectant spray. The shower wasn’t clean, furniture was beat up. My cousins room was so bad she had to change twice because of the mold scent which was why I didn’t move I was scared to get a room that was worse. The carpets was discolored had a scent in the halls. Hotel needs a serious upgrade!! The staff was nice, hotel is located close to a few food places and a mall. I wouldn’t stay here again

The hotel is quite striking visually from the outside. It is in a superb location next to Europa | Fira station. You can therefore get the “L9 Sud” train directly from the airport to almost the front door of this hotel for only €6.90. That train station will also get you to Pl España, from there you can get anywhere easily. I recommend purchasing a “T casual” metro card, that gives you 10 trips for €13, ideal if you are staying for a few days. You therefore get the best of both worlds with this hotel, easy access to Barcelona but without the cost of staying right in the middle. I did not eat at the hotel as it was too expensive - €18 for breakfast is too much when you can walk to Gran Via 2 shopping centre and pay a fraction of that. The rooms were clean, however the shower and toilet is only separated by glass screens with gaps, so don’t share with anyone you aren’t prepared to get to know very well! They also leave food out, this is actually part of the mini bar but not signed as such. So if you eat it, you’ll be charged. They also don’t leave free water in the room and the coffee is very poor, as is the milk offering.

House keeping was not good at all. Room was supposed to be supplied with shampoo, body wash, conditioner. We entered the room with only empty bottles of each. We had to call numerous times to get these supplies refilled/replaced. The room itself was covered in dust bunnies and had orange stains everywhere.

The location of Hotel Porta Fira is convenient if you are attending events at the Fira Barcelona venue, and the L9 Sud metro access is a plus for getting into the city. However, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. The hotel has a noticeably gloomy atmosphere. The hallways are dark and lack any warmth or character, giving the property a dull, uninviting feel that follows you from the moment you check in. Breakfast was overpriced for what was offered. The selection was limited and not worth the cost. To make matters worse, the coffee at the breakfast buffet was consistently cold every morning -- a frustrating and easily fixable issue that management should address immediately. Housekeeping was inconsistent and tardy. The mini fridge was not restocked during our stay, and the coffee station in the room was left without proper supplies. Basic expectations for a hotel at this price point. For anyone planning to visit, be aware that there are virtually no photos of the hotel exterior available online or on Google Maps, which makes identifying the building on arrival unnecessarily difficult. Combined with inaccurate GPS coordinates that direct you toward the nearby IKEA instead of the hotel, finding the place for the first time is more of an adventure than it should be. Use the address Pl. d'Europa, 45 and look for the tower building. Not a terrible stay, but not a memorable one either. There are better options in Barcelona for the price.
